December 18 th – December 20 th Subject Studies Skills Block: We will use timers to see how many sight words we can read in two-minutes. We will also continue to practice our Sight Word Song. Readers Workshop: We will use the book: The Polar Express to complete great retellings, class discussions and story maps. The students will also compare and contrast the book with the movie. Math Workshop: The students will take their Mid-Module Assessment this week. Writers Workshop: The students will complete their research papers this week by adding illustrations, diagrams and charts. Art: We are having loads of fun! We’re creating gingerbread men ornaments and a decorative gingerbread house. We will also create Christmas cards for our family and friends. Winter Party Our class Winter party is this Wednesday December 20, 2017 at 12:00PM. We will be ordering pizza for the students! We will also participate in fun holiday centers! Pajama Day! Our Second Grade pajama day is this Wednesday December 20, 2017! Have your child wear their favorite pair of pajamas!
