Who Should Attend:
We are pleased to invite you to the “Annual Automotive Plastics Summit” scheduled on May 23-24, 2016 in Stuttgart, Germany. The automotive industry is currently undergoing massive innovations. These innovations have the potential to alter automotive vehicle designs and supporting infrastructures around the globe by 2025. Several automakers are turning to plastics due to its advantages over metal; such as reduction of the weight of automobiles, fuel efficiency, improved safety, environmental friendliness and sustainability attributes. These revolutionary changes suggest a critical need to rethink vehicle architecture and materials requirements. Versatile, durable, and lightweight plastics, plastic composites and plastic-metal hybrid materials that increase the efficiency, crashworthiness, and functionality of today’s vehicles hold immense potential to radically enable and optimize advanced vehicle technologies for the future. This premier B2B event will bring together experts, OEMs, suppliers, and academia to discuss, hear and learn about their experiences and challenges with automotive plastics design, migration and optimization, to network and enjoy excellent mix of case studies, interac-tive panel discussions, speed networking and workshops. It is an honor and privilege to invite you to participate in this Summit. We look forward to welcoming you at the Summit in Stuttgart upcoming May!Sincerely,
Alexander HartmannDirector

MARC KIRCHHOFFIndustry Management AutomotiveTRUMPF Laser- und Systemtechnik GmbH
Dr. Ashok M. Adur has over thirty five years of experience in the international plastics industry as a consultant and in technical and commercial management roles. His experience includes success in R&D, product, process & business development, sales & marketing, technical service, introduction & commercialization of new products, business & general management at chemical, plastics and packag-ing companies such as Chemplex Co. (now part of Lyondell-Basell), Air Products & Chemicals, BP Chemicals, International Paper, Poly-One and Crane Plastics. He earned a Ph.D. in Polymer Science & En-gineering and completed a mini-MBA course on Executive Entrepre-neurship. He has published 15 papers in professional journals and presented over 60 papers at regional, national and international professional conferences and moderated and organized some con-ferences. He is considered an expert in polymer compounding and compatibilization of multi-component systems as well as in develop-ing strategies for patenting and intellectual property issues in poly-mers and plastics. He is currently Global Commercial Development Director for Plastics at Vertellus Specialties Inc., a global US-based specialty chemicals company, where he has global responsibility for strategic positioning, intellectual property, marketing, development and introduction of new products for the plastics industry.
Marc Kirchhoff finished his study of mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH) in 2006. After-wards he worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Laser- and System Technology (iLAS – TUHH) in the field of welding and cutting. From the year 2009 on he worked simultaneous at the LZN Laser Zentrum Nord GmbH, a spin-off of the iLAS, as Head of Mak-ro-Department. In 2013 he started working as Industry Manager Automotive at TRUMPF Laser- und Systemtechnik GmbH, respon-sible for the Industry E-Mobility und Lightweight Design.
Dipl.-Ing. Marc Mézailles is global automotive industry manager, specialty engineered materials, at PolyOne Corporation. He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from INSA Lyon and a degree in business management from EM Lyon Business School in France. Marc has helped automotive OEMs and their suppliers de-velop and efficiently manufacture their thermoplastics applications for more than 15 years. Marc joined PolyOne in 2011 after gaining experience in technical and marketing roles at Rhodia (now Solvay) and GE Plastics (now Sabic Innovative Plastics).
J. P. Wiese has a passion and curiosity for how things are made, and how we can make them better. Growing up in Japan and graduat-ing from Michigan State University, he unwittingly endeavored to create one of the most roundabout career paths that accidentally brought him into the industry he has grown to love – plastics. He spends what little spare time he has exploring new ideas, enjoying the company of industrial designers, learning his third language – Spanish (though it’s still mucho bad) and figuring out how to chan-nel his daughter’s tremendous creative energy (which she came by very naturally).
Matt Melonio is the Vice President of Design & Laser Applications at Custom Etch Inc. (CEI), a leading US texture supplier located near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelors of Fine Art from Youngstown State University, with additional study at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and training with furniture designer/maker Hank Gilpin. Matt’s work at Custom Etch began in 1991 and included every facet of design & production over the course of sev-eral years. With his new title of Vice President of Design in 2004, he contributed to CEI’s growth with his efforts in the implementation and integration of new technologies alongside existing technolo-gies, highlighted by the addition of GF Machining Solutions (GFMS) 5-axis laser technology. Custom Etch was the first texture supplier in North America to incorporate the use of 5-axis lasers in 2011 and, since then, Matt has overseen the installation of five GFMS 5-axis lasers at CEI’s Pennsylvania facility, including two L4000 5Ax gantry lasers - the world’s largest 5-axis laser texturing solution. Custom Etch remains the only company in North America with the L4000 5Ax gantry laser.
