Any creative sent without a Client Reference Code will be returned to the sender. The Client Reference Code will be issued to you by Fairfax Digital upon signing the I.O. (Insertion Order). Flash Creatives: If supplying a Flash creative you must also supply a backup GIF or JPG. Ads should be designed for Flash Player 8 or less. Embedded URLS are to be avoided where possible as no click-through data will be recorded. A “clickTAG” must be used instead (See clickTAG specifications). Ads must not exceed 18fps. Creatives must not be sent in two parts e.g. text for a textlink in one e-mail and the clickthrough URL in another. The creative must be received whole in one e-mail. There is a limit of four rotating creatives per ad placement. Any special flight instructions must be included with the creative. All creatives must clickthrough to a new window. Creatives must not contain strobing affects. Ads should be designed with performance on older computers in mind. Only static creatives (.jpg or .gif) are accepted for Newsletters. Rich Media is not compatible with all e-mail programs. Any additional 3 rd party costs are to be absorbed by the advertiser. Rich Media ads must not hide the mouse cursor. Ads with audio properties must be user initiated and have an obvious play/stop and mute function. Ads with video properties must have an obvious play/stop and mute function.

• Video animation should not exceed 30 seconds. • Audio and video ads should not continually loop. Instead, the user should be able to select additional loops by initiating the play button. • If a Rich Media ad is responsible for technical problems (e.g. if it interferes with the functionality of the site), we reserve the right to immediately suspend the

campaign until the problem is resolved. • Advertisements cannot mislead the user. E.g. Fairfax Digital will not accept advertisements that look or act like Windows dialogue boxes or error messages. • Advertisements cannot look like Fairfax Digital content. Creatives must either have a one-pixel wide border. • Fairfax Digital reserves the right to reject creatives that require a high percentage CPU resources (i.e. resulting in a CPU spike). • Fairfax Digital reserves the right to final approval of all ads.

Ad Serving:

• All standard creative material must be delivered to [email protected] no later than Tuesday 5pm the week before launch. For Rich Media, Monday 9am the week before launch.

• Creative change-outs will be actioned within 24 hours upon receipt of the new version. • Atlas Admanager (http://www.atlassolutions.com) is the ad serving software utilised on all our sites. This software records all live campaign data. Data recorded by

an unapproved third party i.e. Google Analytics, is not considered an accurate reflection of campaign results.

ClickTAG Specifications (Tracking Advertisements in Flash) Standard clickTAG Code The destination URL should not be embedded in the Flash file; instead the variable clickTAG should be referenced. We will assign the destination URL to this variable, allowing us to track clicks on the advertisement. Create a button or movie clip on the top layer with myButton_btn as the instance name (not to be confused with the symbol name). Add the standard clickTAG code to Frame 1 of the Timeline.

Universal clickTAG Code

The clickTAG variable is case-sensitive and other publishers may use the alternative clickTag. Agencies creating advertisements to run with several publishers may wish to use the universal clickTAG code. This does not distinguish between clickTAG and clickTag, and should work across all major sites.

Multiple Click-Through URLs

If the advertisement has several buttons that click-through to different URLs, then a unique identifier (e.g. +”?first”, +”?second”) must be added to the clickTAG code. This should be appended to the clickTAG parameter of the getURL function. Fairfax Digital must be informed of advertisements that use this approach.
