This vocationally-orientated course develops the skills, knowledge and personal attributes needed for careers in the rapidly expanding sports, fitness and leisure industry.

Career Opportunities

There are opportunities for employment at higher supervisor/lower management levels within sports and leisure centres, health and fitness clubs, in sports development or as personal trainers. For example opportunities exist for roles as Fitness Manager, Studio Manager and Personnel Trainer.

Sports TherapySports Therapy

Students are encouraged to undertake periods of clinical practice, on and off campus. Students who have demonstrated their clinical competence will qualify for full membership of ‘The Society of Sports Therapists’ and be able to obtain professional indemnity insurance. The programme is taught by specialists in their respective disciplines, which reflects the varied clinical expertise available within the department.
