Denise Law, European Culture and EuropeanJournalism student

I LEARNED THEIMPORTANCE OF ADAPTINGQUICKLY TO NEWSURROUNDINGS.'The classes helped to stimulatethoughtprovoking sessions I'm not used to athome. We talked about a whole slew ofdifferent topics, such as the Islamic religion,Nietzsche's influence in the contemporaryworld, Van Gogh's "Starry Night," Dutchculture and the rise of the creative class. Wewere then asked to apply our skills by eitherwriting a review of an art exhibition or an articleabout a city or social issue.

By traveling alone in a foreign Europeancountry, I learned the importance of adaptingquickly to new surroundings. The Dutch areintelligent, independent and practical; you willlearn a lot by just living among the Dutch.'
