Institute of Information Technology and Management Visit to Relaxo Footwear Limited Date: 17 th August, 2013 Organized for: BBA –IIIrd Sem (E1) Students Name of the Coordinating person: Mr. Mandeep Singh Students of BBA Third semester (E1) went on an industrial visit to Relaxo Foot Wear Limited located at Bahadurgarh, Haryana on 17 th August 2013. The visit was arranged to offer students an opportunity to interact with the industry experts as well as to provide them an exposure to the actual working practices prevalent in the corporate scenario. At Relaxo, Mr. Madan Singh, Senior Manager, Personnel held an interactive and informative session with the students wherein he shared about the evolution of the company, its brands like Hawaii, Flite, Sparx, Schoolmate, Elena and Casuals, turnover of the company, functioning of the plant, different process of manufacturing etc . Mr. M.P Singh also increased the student’s awareness and made technical clarifications for the students. Subsequently the students were taken around the factory premises and experienced practical insight into the manufacturing operations by visited the laboratory by seeing Abrasen tester, Weighing machine, GSM cutter, Crock meter, Lasto meter, Flexo meter, Cold flexo meter, S.G Balance, Shoe Flex tester, Ross Flex Tester, Velcro Cycle tester etc. Then they were taken to the

Students of BBA Third semester (E1) went on an industrial visit to Relaxo Foot Wear Limited
located at Bahadurgarh, Haryana on 17th August 2013. The visit was arranged to offer students
an opportunity to interact with the industry experts as well as to provide them an exposure to the

Subsequently the students were taken around the factory premises and experienced practical

Balance, Shoe Flex tester, Ross Flex Tester, Velcro Cycle tester etc. Then they were taken to the
manufacturing division and shown how the whole process works from cutting of raw material,
stitching, assembling, polishing, labeling etc.
The students were also briefed about various other management issues such as cost management
of the factory, quality control, innovative technologies, waste management, recruitment and
selection process, training and development, safety measures for workers, working hours.
Details regarding the factors affecting plant location, employee facilities, online purchasing, of
products, fixation of selling price, marketing strategies were also discussed. The students not
only responded enthusiastically to questions asked but raised some queries of their own as well.
In conclusion, the visit proved to be an enriching experience for the students who got to
understand the internal environment of the company and learned about the practical aspects of
manufacturing a product.
