1. Purpose of the Guide
The ePHM study guide will give you all the information required to follow the ePHM course more
effectively.
2. The structure of ePHM
ePHM is composed of nine modules and a concluding phase with a project and a final test.
● Each MODULE will have TWO to FOUR UNITS depending on the depth of the content
● Each UNIT contains an introduction, classrooms, exercises, discussion forum, assignments
● You are expected to complete TWO UNIT every WEEK so that you can complete TWO
MODULE every MONTH. If you follow this scheme, you will finish the course comfortably
within 6 months.
● You are required to spend an approximately FOUR HOURS every week on the unit of that
week (including time spent on reading, interacting on forums, answering test and preparing
assignments).
● At the end of each module you will have ONE WEEK to catch up in case you have not been
able to finish ONE UNIT that week.

Unit structure ( This is how a unit looks like)
1. Introduction: The introduction section in each unit will give you an idea about what you will
learn in the unit
2. Classroom: Each unit will have one or more classrooms. In each classroom, you will find
learning materials such as powerpoint presentations, audio or video materials and others.
3. Exercise OR Discussion forum
a. Exercise: An exercise can be in the form of a multiple choice question, fill in the
blanks, or any other activity that will help you cement the knowledge you have
learned in the previous classroom. You can attempt the exercises any number of
times. Be aware that you will need to get at least 70% of marks for each exercise to
complete the activity.
b. Discussion forum: Discussion forum is used to discuss and share what you have
learned in the previous classroom. You will need to post at least once in each
discussion forum (e.g., reply to the posted question or response to an ongoing

discussion)

PLEASE NOTE: Only after completing the exercise OR Discussion forum, you can attempt the
assignment.
4. Assignment: In a unit you will have series of assignments, you will have an assignment.
Please complete the task within the deadline.
a. Assignment: to complete the assignments you need to apply what you have
learned. This means that you should not simply recall the concepts or principles but
really use them to collect the data and/or analyse the situation. This assignment is
graded by your teacher. Completion of assignment is crucial in moving on further in
the course.
PLEASE NOTE: It is mandatory for you to complete the exercises and discussion forum in order to
access the assignment and test.

3. AssessmentThe course has 9 modules + 1 Conclusion + Participation
The final mark consists of three components, the 60% of the average of the nine modules, 30% of
average of the conclusion and 10% for the participation. A scale from 0 to 100 is used to grade any
of the following activity (eg: Exercise, assignments, tests, final project, final test and also overall
score)

Participation in the course is one of the important factor in our e-learning course. Rememberthat 10% of the entire course marks can be obtained just by following these simple tips.
Here are a few tips to ensure that you get the 10% for participation towards the course
1. Timeline:a. Follow the timeline of the course
b. Submit assignments on time
c. Complete the test on time
2. Degree of engagement: Proactiveness in informing tutor about breaks in course, difficulties
faced, technical glitches etc
3. Feedbacka. Giving feedback to improve the course
b. Suggestion to make the course better
4. Discussions: Participate in the module discussion and general discussion forums
5. Questions: Level of questions asked6. Motivation: Motivation level of the students identified during the course

4. Criteria for completing the courseThere are 3 important criteria that they have to be fulfill: There are three important criteria to befulfilled to receive your certificate.
1. To have submitted all assignments and tests of the modules 1-‐92. To have a minimum average score of 50 on module 1-‐93. To have the minimum score of 50 on conclusion

1. Announcement:
You will receive an announcement at the beginning of the module from your module teacher. Yourteacher will be sharing information relevant to the module,with you You will receive these messageson your Moodle and also receive an email alert. You are expected to regularly check theannouncement notifications.
2. Orientation week
The first week of the ePHM course is an orientation week. The idea of this week is to get you familiarwith ePHM online course environment (e.g., know how to navigate and use various tools providedin the course).
3. Tutoring (Talk to tutor)
The tutor is your buddy or friend with whom you can share any difficulty or concern you may haveabout the course. The tutor will keep track of the progress ( attendance, Assignment submissionsetc..) and keep in touch with you to help you during the course. The tutor will also act as a linkbetween you and your teacher or technical support. You can mail your tutor on [email protected] call on 9535537723 for any queries.
4. Group discussion
You can use this feature to ask questions in general. The questions that you post here is visible to allthe participants who have access to the course. It is also important to help each other in the forum.

If you have any IT related issue, regarding uploading, downloading, navigation etc. Use the IT helpbutton or write to [email protected]
5. Technical requirementYou can access ePHM through Moodle. Moodle is a platform through which you will be doing thecourse. You will need an internet connection and a personal computer to access and work on thecourse. The details of the software requirements are given below.
