Krems is the eastern gateway to the Wachau Valley and a short drive from the Austrian capital, Vienna. Set in one of Europe’s most picturesque river landscapes, its history stretches back more than a thousand years. The historic old town is one of the most beautiful in Europe, and over the centuries, builders and architects have created a unique character that has been lovingly maintained and preserved. These efforts have not gone unnoticed. In 1975 Krems was designated a Model City for Historical Preservation, and in 2000 it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Krems is also firmly established as an economic and educational hub. It is a major centre of education in Austria with state-of-the-art infrastructure and excellent public transport. This sector-independent master programme is geared towards the needs of students who aim to acquire in-depth expertise in the management of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
OUTCOME
Graduates of the master programme will have the skills required to manage SMEs with a view to achieving company objectives, evaluating key management indicators and implementing appropriate responses based on their assessment. They are qualified to lead staff in SMEs, with the aim of achieving corporate objectives, and can set up their own business and execute growth strategies for SMEs.Moreover, they are able to identify crisis situations in SMEs and identify, implement and evaluate suitable corrective measures and to introduce controlling policies and tools in SMEs, assess their suitability and respond accordingly to the results generated.
