LIVING IN WA

PERTHPerth is Australia’s fourth largest city and has a population over two million people. It is a multicultural, cosmopolitan and vibrant city, alive with arts, theatre, music, restaurants and shopping. It is also the sunniest capital city in Australia and the perfect place to study and explore Western Australia’s raw natural beauty.

There are so many things to see and do, in and around Perth. Swim at Perth’s famous Cottesloe beach with its pristine blue water and white sand, just 15 minutes from the city centre; discover Kings Park from a bird’s eye view on a treetop walk; or head to the Australian outback.

EXPLORE WESTERN AUSTRALIAWe want you to make the most of your stay here in Perth. Each semester you will have time off on weekends and during study breaks to explore what Western Australia has to offer. Pack your bags and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime.

Here are just some of the fantastic places you can explore:

ROTTNEST ISLANDCatch a ferry over to Rottnest, a small island 19 kilometres off the coast of Perth. Swim, scuba dive, fish and go for a leisurely bike ride while enjoying the beautiful scenery. The island is also home to the quokka, a small marsupial unique to the island, as well as a large variety of birds and marine life.

SOUTH WESTTwo hours south of Perth, the South West region offers a vast area of towering forests, ancient caves and pristine beaches. Go whale watching, stroll down beautiful walk trails, check out the awesome surf or indulge in some award-winning wines and gourmet food. Must-see destinations include Margaret River, Augusta, Denmark, Albany and Esperance.

CORAL COASTJourney along the magnificent Coral Coast and explore the fascinating natural formations of the Pinnacles, the spectacular Kalbarri National Park and meet the famous Monkey Mia dolphins. You can also visit Coral Bay, Exmouth and Ningaloo Reef- where you can swim with the world’s largest fish, the Whale Shark.

GOLDEN OUTBACKWith its brilliant, starry night skies and red, open plains, the outback is a fascinating mix of historic towns, gold mines and friendly pubs. See some of Australia’s most unspoilt beaches on the Great Southern Ocean, discover rare and beautiful wildflowers, and climb Mount Augustus, the world’s largest monolith.

NORTH WESTThe Kimberley and Pilbara regions are lands of extraordinary contrasts, with ancient gorges, waterfalls, native wildlife and fascinating Indigenous culture.
