This report outlines the outcomes and achievements of the Study Abroad Office at IUPUI regarding:
• Enrollment in Study Abroad• Programs in Study Abroad• Honors & Awards• Faculty & Staff Service to Study Abroad Efforts
The participation data presented are primarily from the 2015-2016 academic year due to the delayed nature of study abroad reporting.
Data is the most current available and is primarily compiled for the Institute for International Education’s Open Doors Report, allowing for direct comparison to national trends.**Per Open Doors reporting, study abroad is defined as travel by U.S. Citizens or U.S. permanent residents outside the U.S. for academic credit only. Non-credit travel and international students are not included for Open Doors, though may be included in future years or certain sections of this report.

IRDS Report The Institutional Research and Decision Support completed an analysis of study abroad at IUPUI during the summer of 2017. Highlights from this report include:
More than 20% of incoming freshmen indicate a “very good chance” that they will study abroad during their undergraduate career and more than 30% indicated “some chance.” Yet, only 9.5% of 2017 graduates studied abroad
Students with unmet financial need were significantly less likely to study abroad
First generation students were significantly less likely to study abroad Students who did study abroad:
Were significantly more likely to graduate within 6 years Reported increased student-faculty interaction
