Recent animal studies include:1. Large Animal Respiratory Infections: In the first study, Microcyn was tested against Moraxella Catarrhalis, a gram-negative, aerobic, oxidase-positive diplococcus, which causes respiratory tract-associated infection in both animals and humans in vitro. Microcyn/Vetericyn VF killed M. catarrhalis to the limit (99.98888889%) at each test data point = 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds, 120 seconds, five minutes and 15 minutes.

2. Eye Wash: In a second study performed at Texas A&M, Microcyn/Vetericyn was tested successfully against Moraxella bovis, the cause of Infectious Bovine Keratoconjunctivitis in vitro. Vetericyn VF killed to the limit in five-minute and 10-minute test intervals. This is promising considering that the existing two most common medical treatments for Infectious Bovine Keratoconjunctivitis are challenging and expensive: a. Subconjunctival injection of a Tetracycline, or b. A topical application of Cloxacillin.

Vetericyn VF safely replicates the animal’s own immune system Using a proprietary and non-cytotoxic formulation of oxychlorine compounds in a pH-neutral solution, Vetericyn can be used to clean, debride, disinfect and moisten acute and chronic wounds without harming healthy tissue. Formulas Vetericyn VF is currently available in two formulas. Vetericyn VF Liquid and Vetericyn VF HydroGel.Sodium hypochlorite is used in trace amounts as a preservative. The pH of Vetericyn is targeted at about 7, making it pH neutral while diluted bleach has a pH > 11. At a pH of 7, diluted bleach is unstable and has limited efficacy as an antimicrobial. Also, Vetericyn has been clinically proven to be 70x more effective as an antimicrobial than diluted bleach and is also 100% non-toxic.”

When neutrophils encounter bacteria or other pathogens, the neutrophils engulf it and generate an oxychlorine compound with which to destroy it. This process is called the “oxidative burst.” These molecules typically have a very short life span as they are created “on demand” to accomplish a specific task and do not harm mammalian cells in the process. Mimicking an animal’s immune system, Vetericyn VF contains oxychlorine compounds that are similar to those produced in the oxidative burst.

Recent animal studies include:1. Large Animal Respiratory Infections: In the first study, Microcyn was tested against Moraxella Catarrhalis, a gram-negative, aerobic, oxidase-positive diplococcus, which causes respiratory tract-associated infection in both animals and humans in vitro. Microcyn/Vetericyn VF killed M. catarrhalis to the limit (99.98888889%) at each test data point = 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds, 120 seconds, five minutes and 15 minutes.

2. Eye Wash: In a second study performed at Texas A&M, Microcyn/Vetericyn was tested successfully against Moraxella bovis, the cause of Infectious Bovine Keratoconjunctivitis in vitro. Vetericyn VF killed to the limit in five-minute and 10-minute test intervals. This is promising considering that the existing two most common medical treatments for Infectious Bovine Keratoconjunctivitis are challenging and expensive: a. Subconjunctival injection of a Tetracycline, or b. A topical application of Cloxacillin.
