The secret of the painting

1 Read and circle the correct options.

But that night something incredible happened. Suddenly,

the man on the tightrope jumped out of the painting.

“That’s better!” he shouted. “It’s time for our holiday, too!”

Then, all the other circus people jumped out of the

painting as well.

Camilla’s father was a painter.One summer day, Camilla was in her father’sstudio. In the studio, there was a painting ofsome people from the circus. There was a man on a tightrope and a woman standing ona horse. There were two clowns, three acrobatsand four jugglers. There was an elephant,a lion and a lion tamer.

“That looks fun. I want to play circus...I know— I can try a magic spell!” said Camilla.

“Abracadabra, one, two, three! Circus peoplecome and play with me!“ But nothing happened.

Then Camilla’s dad called her. “Come on,Camilla. It’s time to go to the beach.”

All the family went on holiday.

The circus people had a big party! Theclowns ate cake. The elephant played inthe pool. The woman rode the horse aroundthe garden. The acrobats and the lion tamer

watched TV and drank lemonade all night.They all had lots of fun, but they made aterrible mess.

The circus people jumped out of the painting.

Camilla wanted to play with the circus people.

Camilla’s father saw the studio. It was a mess!

Camilla went to the beach with her family.

Camilla and her family came back from holiday.

She invented a magic spell.
