Japanese Fabr ic x O verseas Designer

Along with the even in Japan, we invite powerful actresses, models, designers, media like a TV channel from Asian countries to Japan. We conduct a tour visiting a textile studio, school, and company to observe and experience Japanese �manufacturing� and traditional cultures. They introduce their experience at the tour to their countries through TV and their social media.

We offer Japanese fabrics to Overseas designers and develop clothing designs. We connect Japanese producers and Overseas designer as well as create new culture and works. We build sustainable economic system for both.

Students Awards

We organize a design contest with the theme of Japan targeting fashion students overseas. In each country, the 10 finalists are selected and the Grand Prix Award is held. We invite the Grand Prix Award winners to Japan and present their works at the event in Japan. We create an opportunity for young Asian creators to be active. The students get to know about Japanese cultures through their designs.

We have cooperated with 34 designers from 8 countries for the development of costume designs using Japanese fabric since 2012. We connect overseas designers and

Japanese fabrics such as Nagoya Obi, Sanjiku, Takakurazome, and Yuzen. Their works

are presented in the SAKURA COLLECTION event in Japan every year.

We have held SAKURA COLLECTION events in Japan since 2012. Inviting overseas

designers, models and the Grand Prix winners of SAKURA COLLECTION Students

Awards, we give a fashion show to present their works at the event.

The Grand Prix winners of 2018 SAKURA COLLECTION Student Award collaborated with Citizen Watch Co., Ltd.,

a sponsor of SAKURA COLLECTION. The winners from Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and France designed

eco bags for CITIZEN imaging their countries along with the theme, BETTER STARTS NOW.

Instead of using paper bags, the eco bags will hand to customers who buy a CITIZEN product at CITIZEN stores

and duty-free stores at airports from August 2019.
