The 1st ASIA AWARDS Grand Prix

Students and Young Creators from 17 countries

We would like to thank all our supporting companies for their continued

efforts and cooperation towards the implementation and success of the first

ASIA AWARDS Program within TOKYO DESIGNERS WEEK 2013.

This year we had decided the Grand Prix, Semi Grand Prix and the Corporate

Awards among the art pieces of young creators and schools from over 17

countries all over the world.

In the Young Creator Awards there were 1700 applicants around the world

from 12 countries and we displayed 35 pieces of work at the site. Also in the

School Awards 54 schools and 65 teams from 12 countries participated and the

School Award and Individual Award were chosen from the 229 pieces of work.

Title of Work：42 Degree: Glass jewelry

Concept：The concept of this jewelry is light and the changing form of liquid. Light refracts water

and the reflection from the other side makes it look like a rainbow. When light is reflected from

water that is 42 degrees, a rainbow appears.

Concept：This is made for people to enjoy their mini farm at home. This plant eco cup, which

contains a vegetable seed, is very easy to use. Defrost it and enjoy the growth of the plant or

vegetable.

Title：Portrait 360 | UnPortrait

Concept：Attracted by the beauty of fabric construction and starting from the concept of warp and weft,

I developed a system of representation of the image curious and innovative. The result is a colored

sculpture of woven paper. They are portraits. They are the people. It is an abnormality of mind. The

portraits are a 360 ° views of the future people that put their faces. Portrait360 is the human being

urban, global and contemporary. Approved in the form. Free to be aesthetically anonymous

Title：DEW

Concept：Japanese sparklers, falling cherry blossoms, the bells that tell the coming of the new

year... We often are moved by things that brings something to an end. "VITRO" recreated one of

those beautiful moments with "DEW " an intimate lighting unit which resembles a drop of light.

The rythm of light will bring tranquility to your life. When the light goes out, you are left with a

lingering peacefulness. We hope the heart which feels people's transiency continues not to cease.

“An elegant lamp inspired by senko hanabi” "DEW" is a proposal which compares transitory emotion to

the drop of light and makes it familiar.

Title of Work：fluidDial

Concept： fluidDial is an interactive clock like a toy that telling the time by the movement and the

reaction of fellow fluid. Fellow fluid traces the invisible tips of clock hands and it changes it’s shape

depending upon the magnetic field of a each clock hand. A user can know the time by observing

reaction of the fellow fluid and also they can enjoy interaction between fellow fluid and clock hands. By

designing the action of finding the time, fluidDial creates the experience to feel flow of the time.
