Church Family,
On behalf of our student ministry and it’s
workers I want to say “Thank You” for your
support this year. God has done great things in
our walls here at FBE, at events, and on mission trips and camps
that many of you have helped support. Your generous giving this
year has supported so much of what we have been able to accom-
plish in building God’s kingdom. Your constant prayers have
also been felt and we cannot wait for the days ahead to see what
God has in store for us in 2017! Merry Christmas to you and
your families! It is my joy and blessing to work at First Baptist
East!!! – Tim Martin

Room 165 for all adults! Adults missed out on the study of 1 & 2 Peter and Jude this fall as we changed curriculum for the evangelism emphasis. But, if you would like to study these books, join us on Wednesday night begin-ning January 4 for a journey through these three powerful books! Each week’s study is a separate topic. There is no homework and adults of all ages are invit-ed to attend if you do not attend prayer meeting or adult choir!
There is no cost for this study.
Coming January 8!
...an effort to pray with every
FBE Family! This is the easiest kind of visitation because we only are ask-ing to pray with everyone in our church and asking them to pray for our church during January.
There are two changes for this year. We will only be asking teams to visit between 3 and 6 p.m. on January 8, so it will be a one-day effort. Also, we are inviting all visitation teams back to the church at 6 p.m. for a snack supper and report time.
Additional teams are needed. If you would like to be on a team, please contact the prayer captain for your Connection Hour department.

Pastor to Children & Families
I want to take a moment to brag on the awesome volunteers we have here at First East Children's department! They have been so helpful and friendly! Sometimes
working with Kids is tough. (So tough you want to pull your own hair out!)...Yet they are here week after week serving at First East. I am so grateful and excited to be working with such great people and look
forward to what is ahead!
Can you send me a list of your top 10 things you want your kids to know before they graduate out of the children's ministry here at First East!
Send your lists to [email protected] or catch me in the hall-
way at church.

From the Pastor This year has flown by. I cannot believe it is Christmas and right around the corner is 2017. That just reminds me we need to make good use of the time God has given us because it passes way too fast! What is it that you need to do? Maybe start reading the Bible each day? Maybe spend some time in prayer each day? Maybe taking a class to deepen your study of God’s Word? There are so many wonderful opportunities! Why not make plans right now to
put God’s plan for you first place in your life. Let’s make this new year all about Him! I want to thank you for allowing Beverly and I to minister to you this past year. We have laughed and we have cried with many of you. Hopefully, we will have a lot more years to be a part of your lives. I also want to thank you for the gifts and cards that we have received. Each one of you are very special. I hope to see you this Sunday!
What a special opportunity we have to worship on Christmas Day - the time we have set aside to celebrate Jesus’ birthday. We will begin our one worship service at 10:30 a.m. We have lots of special music, a special children’s message and a message from God’s Word. Bring your family and join us this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. —Bro. Doug

“PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW”
What an incredible blessing it is to serve on the “team” at First Baptist East. I am blessed to be surrounded by an army of volunteers and staff who willingly work together for God’s glory!
There are hundreds of details (no exaggeration) that go into each of the Christmas programs that we do! And without the support of MANY people these programs could not happen. Many
of those who provide support work behind the scenes, and are never seen on the stage. But with the help of each person on the team, we see wonderful things happen. For each of you who provide support and help, please know that you are greatly appreciated! I praise God for each of you! Ultimately, I praise Him for bringing us all together in a spirit of cooperation to accomplish great things in His name and for His glory. Merry Christmas to you all! May God richly bless you all during this holiday season and in 2017!

“All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, And they shall
glorify Your name.” Psalms 86:9
It's passages like these that excite me! To think that one day people from ALL nations will worship and praise our God. However, there is the now that we live in, and as Bro. Doug says, "we are plan A, there is no plan B" to reaching the nations with the gospel. One of the things I see more and more, is the oppor-tunity we have to reach people with the gospel, not just here, but people in nations all over the world. The amazing thing is so much can be accomplished right here in Lawton. For example, this January new students from multiple countries will be arriving at Cameron to begin a four year academic career. Typi-cally when they arrive they have no bedding, towels, etc. and no real point of contact. The BCM has a program of outreach to these kids to provide them those basic necessities as well as an opportunity to come along side them and be their family while they are here. If you are interested in this mission, and would like to learn more please contact Freddie Shuler at 580-574-8804.

What Are The Possibilities for 2017 For Your Connection Hour Group? The possibilities are really endless as we think about reaching, ministering and teaching for the coming year! There are many lost people that are waiting to hear how they can have a hope and a future and your Connection Group can help make that happen. The key to seeing effective work through our Connection Groups is more people involved in the ministry. It is easy to come and hear a lesson on Sunday morning, but every group needs people to step up and help with minis-try and outreach in adult groups! We also need additional people to be involved in leading a group each week. We need more people to serve in children, youth and preschool connection groups. So, what can you do in 2017 to help build the Kingdom of God through our Connection Hour?
