The CSPD MissionThe Center of Student ProfessionalDevelopment (CSPD)is a comprehensiveCollege of Business resource focused onpreparing students for successful entryinto the global, professional businessenvironment.

"College graduates need to be more prepared toenter the corporate environment. Learning,thinking, communication and problem-solvingskills should be taught at the college level. "

The CSPDoffers various preparationworkshops, networking sessions,mentoring opportunities and intern-ships, which help students develop aprofessional portfolio of skills andbehavioral attributes that are soughtby employers.

The CSPDis designed for Sophomore ClassLevel Students and higher who have aminimum GPAof 2.8.

Students are nominated by College ofBusiness Faculty members. Our Goals

To encourage students, futureprofessionals, to continuouslyenhance their skills, businesssophistication and other behavioralcompetencies during and after theircollege matriculation

Nominated students are considered asgood "Brand Ambassadors" for theCollege of Business.

To facilitate students developing abalanced portfolio of skills -academic, technical, careerreadiness, communication,interpersonal, critical thinking andleadership skillsSoft Skills and Critical Thinking

EnhancementTo assist students in defining andmanaging their personal andprofessional brands

Eligibility to participate in Annual Drawingsfor Prizes

Invitations to attend Receptions anddinners hosted by the Deans, theUniversity's President and Industry

To cultivate relationships withalumni and industry resulting inmentoring opportunities forstudents and, in collaboration withCareer Services, provide internshipand full-time career opportunitiesfor students

Recognition in newsletters and socialmedia and COBBoards

Opportunities to connect with Industry andattend Industry sponsored events
