Doubling as a Fringe Festival venue and playing host to great local gigs, West Bar is the destination to chill out and meet up with friends on campus. Plus, there’s great food and drink specials every day.

There’s entertainment running all year, with acoustic sets and a huge range of events, including Oktoberfest, art exhibitions, live local music, DJ sets, and special screenings of cult tv shows and major sporting matches.

Samstag Museum of Art

Experience art and culture year-round with Samstag Museum.

Located at UniSA’s City West campus, Samstag presents a huge array of diverse exhibitions throughout the year.

With a program of contemporary visual art, Samstag is one of UniSA’s leading creative spaces.

Samstag offers a range of free guided tours for booked groups, and hosts events, talks, and exhibition launches.

If you’re interested in art, films, music and supporting the local scene, ART AFTER DARK combines all of this and more.

On Thursdays from 5pm, the West End of the city comes alive with a calendar of events.

UniSA Sport organise FREE exercise classes and on-campus sport and recreational activities. You can also be involved in community events like City to Bay and the Tour Down Under.

Mentoring

Mentoring is a great way to provide support and expertise while making a difference along the way.

Mentors provide encouragement, act as sounding boards, challenge, support and share experiences across both career and personal mentoring.

UniSA offers a number of school or division based mentoring programs, as well as a number of mentoring programs that are university-wide, such as the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME).

Leadership ProgramPreparing tomorrow’s leaders today

As the university of enterprise we’re preparing the professional leaders of tomorrow.

There are three separate leadership development programs on offer:

ASPIRE - for first-year undergraduates

UNITE - for undergraduate and postgraduate students

LEAD - for students who have previously completed UNITE.

Learn how to work effectively with others, network, lead others, problem-solve and conflict resolution skills. Develop knowledge of your personal strengths and understand how to use these for study, work, life and more.

AIME gives UniSA students the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic educational program that gives Indigenous high school students the skills, opportunities, belief and confidence to finish school at the same rate as every Australian child.

AIME’s proven results have led the program to work with over 3,000 Indigenous students nationally across 16 universities.

AIME kicked off in SA in 2013, with only UniSA students given the chance to be part of it. In 2014 there were over 400 Indigenous students involved and 150 UniSA mentors!

From the moment you step off the plane, to your first day on campus and right throughout your studies, UniSA is here to support you.

Language and Learning Services There’s a lot to juggle at uni, and getting your head around what lecturers look for in assignments can be difficult.

To help you, Language and Learning Services provide study and assignment help. They offer workshops, resources and individual advice on a range of topics, including getting started at uni, how to manage workloads, doing reports, essays and other assignments, improving academic skills like reading, writing and presenting, and developing communications skills.

Counselling If you feel like you’re struggling or overwhelmed, the university offers free and confidential counselling to all students.
