GREEN COMMITTEE

The Green Committee, made up of staff members as

well as students, has the goal of ensuring that UQAT

accomplishes the efforts required to offer students and staff a workplace that is increasingly respectful

of the environment. The committee puts on Earth Day events on April 22nd of each year. The Green

Committee recruits new members annually.

Committees at Lunch: the various committees on the Val-d’Or campus will set up information booths and, who knows, you may find one with which you'd like to be involved! Watch for promotional notices, so as not to miss this opportunity!

Try on a UQAT jacket - Val-d’Or campus: each year, students have an op-portunity to buy a UQAT jacket. Jacket try-on sessions happen towards the mid-dle of September. When you order a jacket, you will be asked to pay the total amount of the purchase cost. Your jacket will be delivered to you five to six weeks after you order it.

Watch for promotional notices and check your email, so as not to miss this oppor-tunity!

We're starting another school year already! We are very pleased to welcome you among us. May this year meet all your needs.

The Student Association team will be around all year to support you. If you have questions, don't hesitate to come and talk to us. Our mission is to defend your rights and interests.

For the last few weeks it has been our good fortune and pleasure to welcome Julie-Anne Bérubé as our Academic Sup-

port Counsellor. Julie- Anne will be repla-cing Nancy Crépeau. A recent graduate of UQAT in Teaching English as a Second Language, Mrs. Bérubé will join the First Nations Services team. Keep an eye open

for notices regarding the workshops she will offer in the Fall. She is located in Room 4127.

What is it? A mentoring project in which newly-registered stu-dents will be able to be matched to another student who wants to share their experience, their knowl-edge and their personal strategies.

What are the objectives? To promote the integration of new students and en- courage perseverance at school.

When is it? Project Share will extend throughout the entire Fall session, starting in August 2010 and ending in December 2010.

What will I get out of it? It’s a unique opportunity to let your experience as a student benefit others and to gain ex-perience in helping relationships. Mentors will receive an attestation confirming their par-ticipation in the project, which could be an interesting addition to the curriculum vitae! Mentors also have a chance to win a number of participation prizes…

EUROSTAGE 2009-10

For the Eurostage project coordinated by UQAT, eight of us (students in 2nd-year preschool educa-tion and primary teaching) left Canada last May to do a practicum in France, in the city of Troyes.

This trip allowed us to make delightful discoveries on cultural and professional levels, and our pre-sence in French schools enabled us to meet delightful people.

The experience was a very enriching one: we came back to Quebec with our heads full of new ideas

and good memories.
