Minimum Wage
• £6.19 per hour if you are over 21• £4.98 per hour if you are 18 to 20 • £3.68 per hour if you are under 18
Most students get their first proper job when they leave university, usually at the age of 22
If a student takes a GAP YEAR it is common for them to work for half the year and travel for the other half.
• The most common job is in a shop, but also, waitresses and nannies.

• A student will typically save £4,000 for travelling.
