COURSE PROGRAM AND ATTENDANCE

A study period is defined as a Term

1. Course progress

International students are required to maintain a satisfactory academic progress. To

maintain your progress you are required to pass at least 50% of your scheduled

subjects in any study period.

If a student fails to maintain satisfactory academic progress in a study period, UNI’S

intervention strategy will be initiated (refer to intervention policy on the UNI website).

The student will be notified on the risk of not maintaining satisfactory academic

progress (First warning letter of unsatisfactory course progress) and the continuing risk

of the UNI needing to issue an intention to report to DIAC for unsatisfactory progress if

there is no improvement.

If the student is identified as not making satisfactory course progress in second

consecutive compulsory study period, the student will be contacted by UNI to notify

the DIAC for unsatisfactory progress.

Student who fails to meet this requirement will be in breach of their visa, and will be

advised that they have 20 working days in which to access the complaints and appeals

process.

Students may be eligible to be reassessed and a reassessment fee will apply in such

cases. Please speak to your trainer or course coordinator for more information.

The strategy specifies procedures for contacting and counselling identified students and

sets out options available to assist students to achieve satisfactory course progress.
