    Project Overview

    Problem description

    Haynes Research Services Ltd. is a custom research institution used by thousands of clients worldwide. The company offers custom market research services via a heavily customised order form on their website. Currently all orders come in via email and have to be processed manually.

    Processing involves:

    1. Storing order details in Excel2. Contacting client to request further details3. Finding the most relevant researcher for the order4. Assigning him/her to the case5. Keeping the client updated6. Sending the final research to the client

    Main problems faced at the moment:

    Emails get lost, making it impossible to deal with the order Excel worksheet huge and difficult to share across the team

    The proposed solution

    An browser based intranet application needs to be built with the following requirements:

    Membership system and a login page for existing users Order view, where orders coming in from the order form are shown Clicking on the order brings up the order details view

    System should support a number of states that can be assigned to each order

    Comments can be left on each order Old orders can be archived

    Target audience

    The intranet will be used by all company employees, but most of all the managers and customer service staff.

    Project Budget: $50,000

    Deadline: 13/10/2015

    What determines success and failure

    In a successful scenario, time is saved for internal employees as they no longer have to rely on incoming users and can instead use the intranet website to view and manage incoming orders.

    If the website does not work or if it does not save any time for internal employees, the project cannot be considered successful.
