EvaluationAfter looking at other students work, there were many strength and weaknesses in their work. The strengths of their preliminary tasks were that they had a good range of shots, camera angles and their editing was also good at some points. However, I noticed there were many mistakes that they made which our group could learn from. One of these mistakes was the shakiness of the camera. Many students work had this issue. To prevent our camerawork from being shaky, we will make sure that we have a good tripod and Steadicam. Poor lighting was another issue which resulted in the actors not being seen properly or the colours looking washed out. Some shots were also very blurry so to prevent this we will use a viewfinder to make sure the shots are focused. Another thing which I noticed was some actors started laughing during the shot. We will prevent this from happening by having our actors remember their lines. After looking at these videos I also noticed the problems we would face during filming. One of the problems would be to prevent our actors from laughing. This would waste a lot of time as we would have to redo shots. Sound is also key as we will need to make sure that sound is consistent and does not fluctuate. We do not have an external mic so having the actors speak loudly and clearly would help with this.After looking at these students work, I have a clear understanding of all the shots they used and make sure we don’t repeat the mistakes they made. We will also keep our storyline simple to prevent it from getting complicated.
