Previously, under a separate task orders, SSA: assessed STS’s fixed route and shared ride operations; provided options for the renovation and expansion of the facility on its existing site and/or relocation to an entirely new site; and, led the preliminary architectural design for a new operations & maintenance facility on a new site in St. Clair, Pennsylvania. SSA will be providing final architectural design for the new 93,000 SF building. The facility consists of approximately 13,500 SF of administrative and operations area along with maintenance and storage for fixed route, shared ride, and passenger vehicles. This maintenance space including circulation area is approximately 52,000 SF and the interior bus storage for all STS vehicles is approximately 28,400 SF. The new facility will consolidate STS functions into one location which will improve operational safety and efficiency. The estimated project cost is $25 million with a target completion of May 2021.
