STRUT AND TIE MODELLING FOR
STRUCTURAL CONCRETE DESIGN
The design of reinforced concrete structural elements involves
either using of a truss model or a strut and tie model. The strut
and tie model has proved to be very ecient in providing
reinforcement details for ties and determining the compressive
stresses in the concrete struts developed in the concrete required
to prevent crushing of these struts.
