Till and place ferti lizers only where is neededNew Gaspardo ZEBRA can ti ll and ferti lize soil at the same, focusing both acti ons in a narrow strip. With ZEBRA dry ferti lizer applicati on is combined to a conservati ve ti llage, which keeps crop residues in between of the rows preventi ng soil from erosion.

AGRONOMIC BENEFITS

8 9

Advantages of strip ti llStrip ti ll combines benefi ts typical of direct seeding to ones from traditi onal ti llage, furthermore allows farmer to anti cipate planti ng date. ZEBRA cuts costs, reduces ti mes on fi eld and lowers fuel consumpti on and ferti -lizer use in a easy and smart way. Loosening compacted and poor of oxygen soils guarantees a quicker drying up and thus earlier seeding ti me. Moreover this promotes process of crop residues conversion into organic matt er. Has been proven that strip-ti lled soils have bett er water infi ltrati on and water retenti on than other techniques.

STRENGTH

RUGGED FOR ROUGH!

Arm strong ZEBRA ti llage unit is designed to work at high speed, with high amount of residues and hard soil conditi ons. The parallel link-age arm is made of one high tensile steel cast piece. This design prevents from twisti ng and bending under loads and impacts which can occur in the toughest working conditi ons.

OPERATING UNIT

Front disc coulterThe 18” (450 mm) wide disc coulter with notched edge has three positi ons of setti ng for the side gauge wheels to control working depth. It consistently cuts soil and residue at the best.

Heavy duty shankThe Heavy Duty shank, made of tempered boron steel, breaks up and refi nes soil from 4” (10 cm) up to a 10” (25 cm) of depth. Rear distributor delivers ferti lizer at the bott om of furrow.

Containing discs Two side containing discs collect soil to the middle of the ti lled strip, creati ng a small ridge in the center of it. Discs have water and dust proof hubs, and can be adjusted in many positi ons: incidence, angle and down pressure can fi t all working conditi ons.

Row cleanersSeveral positi on of pin adjustment allows to set trash wheels at the best. It gives a perfect cleaning of the strip: residues are swept away from the ti llage line pre-venti ng clogging.

Crumbler rollerThe rear crumbler roller prepares the seeding bed refi ning clods and leveling the surface. Its curved bars reconsolidate soil, most on the sides, keeping the center soft and raised from the ground surface.

FERTILIZER SYSTEM

14 15

Get the best form ferti lizati on!Localize ferti lizer gives signifi cant benefi ts in terms of result and yield. Adopti ng strip distributi on allows to reduce applicati on rate, minimizing wastes. The precise and proven GASPARDO distributor system delivers the quanti ty of granular ferti lizer into the ti llage strip up to 455 lb per acre (500 kg per hectare).

Distributi on is driven by an hydraulic motor which can quickly change applicati on rate even on the run. If con-nected with Precision Farming systems, ferti lizer rate can be managed in relati on to the machine’s positi on, following a distributi on program.

Localize stable elements like Phosphorus and Potassium directly under the seeding furrow does great advantage compared to traditi onal spreading distributi on. At fi rst growth stages rooti ng depth will be pro-moted, with positi ve eff ects on later crop resistance to water stresses and ability to adsorb soil nutrients.

GPS DRIVE

Satellite technology can enhance to the best strip-ti ll functi on-ality of ZEBRA. Using a D-GPS receiver is possible to opti mize ti mes and precision of ti llage. Moreover, if ti llage passages in fi eld are memorized, later is possible to plant with extreme precision seeds in the middle of strips: this gives the best con-diti on for a good crop start in early stages!
