SPS 2013. Rolland pedagogy This 5th edition of the seminar is dedicated to the pedagogy that Paul Rolland developed in the 60’s and 70’s to help teachers to create a good solid technical foundation in their students. Rolland’s principles are applicable to any string method and they are valid both for individual and group tuition.

This is the first of two workshops that will cover the contents of the video recordings filmed by Rolland. In January 2013, the seminar will focus on the basic principles of Rolland’s project as well as on techniques for the left hand. Techniques for the right hand will be covered in the 2014 edition. Attendees to the seminar will be able to watch Rolland’s documentaries on string teaching and to try the exercises for themselves, so everybody is encouraged to bring their instrument. In addition to the Rolland training, other sessions on string pedagogy will take place at the weekend.
