COACHES FOR SCHOOLHOCKEY PROGRAMS 2016Hockey Tasmania (HT) is looking forcoaches to deliver HT School Hockeyprograms in 2016.
HT with financial assistance from theState and Federal Governmentsprovides year round opportunities forTasmanian schools to include Hockeyin their school curriculum. Thesesessions can occur on schoolpremises or at a turf facility eitherduring or after school hours.
Hockey Tasmania also offers SchoolHoliday Clinics at various locationsaround the state.
Prospective coaches must have acommunity coach accreditation and aworking with vulnerable peopleregistration. Remuneration of $25 perhour will be offered.

DERWENT SENIOR REGISTRATION DAYDerwent’s Senior Registration Day will coincide with the SHL Lightning Cup onSaturday 5th of March. The Club will be holding a BBQ and there will be aDerwent Area set up for the event. All present and new players are welcome toattend.
A flyer with further information about The Lightning Cup and Senior RegistrationDay will be distributed later this week.
PRE-SEASON LIGHTNING CUPThe Pre-Season Lightning Cup will be held atthe THC on Saturday 5th of March. Thisinnovative competition will feature the traditional11 players a side but with a twist as the femaleteam of each club will play the 1st and 2ndquarters of each match and the male team willplay the 3rd and 4th quarters.
In each match the scores will remain throughoutand the final scores will be a combination ofboth genders over the 4 quarters. Points will beawarded for each match as follows:Win = 3 pointsDraw = 1 point
At the completion of the preliminary pool matches, each entry will be rankedaccording to points won and goal difference.
Please come along and support our Derwent Team as they strive to take out theLightning Cup and the $1,000 prize.

STATE UNDER 21 TEAMS NAMEDCongratulations to Sam Grice and Linden McCarthy who were selected for theTasmania Men’s U21 team and Eliza Westland who will Vice Captain theTasmanian Women’s U21 team.
The Australian Under 21 Championships will be held in Sydney from Sunday 10th
April – Sunday 17th April 2016.
G J GARDNER INTRA-STATE CHALLENGENominations are now open forplayers to participate in the G JGardner Intra-State Challenge held in Launceston over the June Long Weekend.
This event features boys and girls teams in U13, U15 and U18 divisions from theNorth, South and North-West of the State.
Dates: Sat 11th - Mon 13th June 2016.
Where: Hockey Tasmania Northern Hockey Centre, St Leonards - Launceston.
Cost: A $10 Nomination Fee is payable upon online registration. If selectedthere will be a further fee of $30 payable by each athlete to cover training andcompetition costs.
