When you’re stressed, your brain releases a hormone called Cortisol which works like a built-in alarm system.

Cortisol levels peak around midday and begin to decrease about 6pm. They require the body to be in REM sleep around 2am, to repair the brain psychologically and physically.

Fight or Flight Response.
