Developing national comprehensive indicator

framework: Actions

• NPOs/SDG body to initiate development of national indicator framework

• NSOs to provide technical advice to relevant institutional mechanism in SDG mainstreaming process to ensure SMART targets

• NSOs to provide technical support to indicator formulation in consultation with relevant line ministries

• Civil society groups actively participate, including by acting as pressure groups for identifying priority issues and ensuring that hard-to-reach groups are not left behind.

Developing national comprehensive indicator

framework: Regional Support • Regional platform to bring relevant stakeholders together on regular

basis for raising awareness on SDG monitoring

• Advocacy for involvement of NSO in developing goals and targets, enacting statistical laws that strengthen coordinator role among high political leaders

• Training to implementing agencies on: SDGs and policy linkages, SMART targets, role of statistics in monitoring

• Support to NSOs to take more active role and increase its capacity in providing data support in a modernized way

• Technical support to improve systems for integrating administrative data sources

• NPOs to include NSDS as a component of NDPs

• NSOs to continue strengthening engagement with line ministries and local government entities to identify priority monitoring and statistical information needs to support their SDG implementation, ensure that these needs are adequately integrated in developing and updating the NSDS

• NPOs to ensure that a budget plan to support NSDS implementation is consulted, agreed to and provided by relevant ministries
