FAQs about a Stream Hostess Party

Who usually hosts a party? The hostess is a person who is seeking to get an airbrush system or Stream products for themselves. They are excited to partner with their Stream Distributor to introduce Stream and August Tan to their event guests with the goal of a purchase of a system or products that qualify the hostess for free product value and discounts that they can use on their own purchases at the party. (*see attached flier for reward details)

Is there a set, required number of people I need to have attend a Stream party? No. Because the hostess rewards are based on sales from the party and not number of guests, there is no pressure to invite a certain quantity of people. What is important is that you have invited people interested in makeup and/or tanning, confirmed RSVPs for attendance prior to the party date, and have invited enough guests to meet your personal goals for your party. (Confirming 6-8 guests who are interested in airbrush makeup is a good rule of thumb to ensure that at least 2-3+ may buy a system ) For example, if your personal goal is to get your system FREE then you need to accomplish $600 in sales at the party. This will result in $115 product credit and 50% off any item you choose. If you choose the $220 Extreme airbrush system then the cost is 50% off, $110 cost with $115 credit means your system is FREE... plus you still have $5 in product credit left to spend... plus you get 25% off anything else you buy!

What kinds of products does Stream offer or show at the party?

Your Stream Cosmetics Distributor will come to the party prepared to show you the airbrush system and the makeup that comes with the system. She/ He can demonstrate on you and/ or your guests how to use the system to achieve flawless makeup application. Stream makeovers can take as little as 5-10 minutes per person with tutorials along the way. You may even want to try using the stylus yourself and see how fun and easy it is to apply it.

The systems that you can buy at the party are:

Stream’s Artist Airbrush System- $180 1 speed compressor (medium only)and makeup stylus comes with carry case, plug, DVD, booklet, 4 foundation shades, blush, shimmer bronzer, pearlizer (highlighter), and moisturizer-primer (no high speed, thus tanning adaptor should not be used with the Artist’s system) Light-weight and portable at ~1.5 lbs

Stream’s Extreme Airbrush System- $220 3 speed compressor (Low, Medium, and High) and makeup stylus, comes with carry case, plug, DVD, booklet, 4 foundation shades, blush, shimmer bronzer, pearlizer (highlighter), and moisturizer-primer. Low speed great for detail on eyes, close concealing, sheer controlled color application, etc. High speed for areas of the body, body bronzing, and the August Tan airbrush tanning adaptor use. Light-weight and portable at ~1.5 lbs

August Tan Airbrush Tanning Adaptor (for use with the Extreme system)- $79 Specialized tanning stylus, booklet, extended hose, and 2 bottle of tanning solution in medium (7% DHA) or dark (12% DHA) (enough for 4 full body tans) (NO COMPRESSOR or case, designed for use with the Extreme Airbrush makeup compressor)

August Tan Airbrush Tanning System- $150 1 speed compressor (High) and specialized tanning stylus, comes with carry case, plug, booklet, extended hose, and 2 bottle of tanning solution in medium (7% DHA) or dark (12% DHA) (enough for 4 full body tans) Light-weight and portable at ~1.5 lbs This system does not require the makeup airbrush systems and is a stand-alone product for portable use

It is not just a “how-to” lesson, but you also get a personal consultation. Based on your skin type, color depth, and desired detail in your look, your distributor can make a great recommendation on the finish for your foundation (matte or dewy), the color family for your kit (fair, medium, tan, dark, or deep), and any items that you may want to add to your purchase such as matte bronzer, shadows (matte or shimmer), metallic shades, concealer, finishing powder, blush shades, liners, mascara, to-go-battery, makeup station, etc. Don’t worry, the 4 foundation shades, blush, shimmer bronzer, pearlizer (highlighter), and moisturizer-primer that come with every Stream airbrush system will allow you to create a basic, naturally flawless look. However once you see the ease, affordability, and versatility you may want to add a few more colors or items to your options. Stream’s airbrush cosmetics can be used on the body and the face, including the lips! Stream airbrush makeup can also be blended or layers for more versatility. Also on the body it is great for coverage of scarring, blemishes, or tattoos for those special events in your life.

Some distributors also demonstrate the tanning system on the arms or lower legs so you and your guests that may be interested in safe, sunless tanning options can enjoy. Let your distributor know that you are interested in potentially purchasing the August Tan airbrush tanning system or tanning adaptor for the Extreme airbrush system to make certain she/ he can prepare to bring that option. Tanning demonstration are quick, clean, no smell, no overspray, and does not rub off on clothing when dry (takes ~ 5min for 100% drying) Full body tans take ~20 min and are up to the distributor assisting your party to confirm if they are available (may be at cost of solution.)

How do I get a FREE Extreme airbrush system?

To earn an Extreme airbrush system FREE then you need to accomplish at least $600 in sales at the party. This will result in $115 product credit and 50% off any item you choose. If you choose the $220 Extreme airbrush system then the cost is 50% off, $110 cost with $115 credit means your system is FREE... plus you still have $5 in product credit left to spend. There are several combinations of product sales that could result in $600 in sales or more: Examples: 3 Extreme systems = $220 x 3 = TOTAL $660 or 4 Airbrush Tanners = $150 x 4 = TOTAL $600

or 1 Extreme System = $220 1 Artist Airbrush System = $180 1 Tanning adapter = $79 1 August Tan system = $150 TOTAL = $629

"I am new to hosting parties…What happens if no one buys at the party?"

No worries! Most people like to order at the party or buy inventory the distributor may have brought to the event. It is preferred that they buy at the party so the hostess can confirm her rewards and place her order right away. However, we can leave the party sales slip open for up to 5-7 days. This still allows guest to buy in the next few days after they have a chance to confirm their funds or feel confident about their shade choices. Most leave the event looking great, feeling confident, and get many compliments that have them wanting to place an order right away and adding to your party sales total. If you are still concerned about having a party with no sales, it is best to put great thought in to preparation with your Distributor. There are mitigation to most event success concerns and are easily remedied: Concern: " I had no shows at my last hosted party with another company. How do I get guest interested in coming to the Stream Hosted Party?" Solution: 1. Target! Invite those interested in makeup, tanning, and airbrush makeup options. Stream is a very specific product (airbrush) so explain in advance that it is just about the airbrush makeup (no candles, cookware, toys, or greeting cards), thus you get people to come who are truly interested in the airbrush product the party is focused on.

2. Pre-sell! Learn more about the airbrush-look from your distributor, watch the videos they provide, and read info they send on the product, and spread the excitement you begin to feel about the party! If they are excited about coming they will be certain not to miss. We can even email them a PDF catalog in advance. Also this detail in advance will ensure that if they are interested in buying they come prepared to pay for the product in cash or credit card in the expected amounts. Perhaps they may be already committed to buy before coming and just want to try it on the skin to know what shade to order. 3. Communicate! Get RSVPs and send mailed, phoned, and email reminders. Social media is great to help with this and your distributor may offer this as a free serve to help you. Simply provide your distributor with the contact information and she can handle e-vites and reminder calls. 4. Be Different! Plan an EVENT versus a traditional "Hostess Party". So many people have attended cookie-cutter parties that last for hours and hours. Be inventive and plan an event FOR the guests to enjoy that fits their pace and style. If you know that your 'soccer-moms' do not have an hour to dedicate to a party... have an Open-House event. It can last 1-2 hours and guest can RSVP to float in for 15-20 minutes to see and try the products. This is enough time to get a free mini-makeover, consultation for shades and products, and order what they need. You could also plan a Girl's Night In party, Wine and Cheese, or an intermission at the book club. It is flexible and there are no rules. The goal is to show and explain the systems and to let the guest try the makeup/ tanning so they can order. This can be done in a way the respects your time, resources, energy, and efforts while making an enjoyable atmosphere that your guest have desire and time to attend.



Concern: "I do not have a ton of friends to invite" Solution: 1. Multiply! Encourage everyone to bring a Plus-One and double your party! Have them give you the contact info in advance and the more the merrier! 2. Be Business-minded! Invite people you know who may be interested in airbrush makeup but may not usually be a party guest of yours. For example, your hair dresser, your daughter's dance coach/ teacher, the coordinator than planned your wedding.... all these people know you and these people have an outlet for use of the airbrush system for or within their current business. Normally a party for candles or cookware it would not make sense BUT for a professional grade airbrush system they may not only be interested but they may be the 1st to buy! 3. GIVE! Make it a benefit or fundraiser! Work with your distributor to offer the airbrush mini-makeovers and consultations to every guest, have an amateur or professional photographer to donate their time and digital images to email to guests, have guest donate $5 to the selected cause for their attendance, and perhaps the distributor may also donate a certain % of the net profit from sales to the charity as well. Perhaps you share the free product value with the guest that brought the most attendees. It is a WIN-WIN for all! Concern: "I do not have a big place to have a party" Solution: 1. Go Mobile! Seek out a free recreational room or location. Club houses, free meeting rooms, and community centers often have options for people associated with them. 2. Favors! You may have a family member or friend who is not yet interested in buying a system but perhaps in interesting in helping you host your event by providing the location or venue. 3. See the Glass as ½ full! You may not need a big place...The Steam products do not take much room at all. A makeover station and a chair, a TV or PC to show a video, and a place for refreshments (optional) is usually all that is needed for a few people to gather. Plus, if you are having an open house format, all the guest are not there all at the same time. 4. Franchise! Ask your locally owned nail or hair salon if you can host the party there (if they do not already offer tanning or makeup services). They may be interested as it may be opportunity for them to pre-sell services your guests may want. It is a great way for guests to get the full glamour treatment and their finished airbrush look will REALLY show them how gorgeous they are. (Plus the salon may be interested in buying a system and that can increase your party sales totals).
