DiversificationCapitalThe Navigator Strategy

small and medium sized
businesses across the UK.
To date Triple Point has
invested over £190m
through the Navigator
Strategy.
Our Navigator Strategy provides leasing and lending to businesses,
which are typically UK small and medium sized businesses.
Each Navigator business line provides market scale and adequate
liquidity across a range of contract maturities. Maturities range
from the very short term (c.30 day corporate trade finance) through
to the mid-term (c.60 month SME leasing).
The growth opportunity in each business line is provided by:
• the scale of each addressable trade;
• the market access we enjoy through our track record,
experienced team and intermediary networks; and
• the continuing inability of the banks to compete
due to capital adequacy requirements and high
legacy platform costs.
With the Navigator Strategy, the funds you invest should qualify for
Business Relief after two years, at which point they will fall outside
of your estate for inheritance tax purposes.
This document is designed to give you some more detail on how
the Navigator Strategy works.

Navigator Business LinesOur Navigator Strategy typically provides funding to UK small and medium sized businesses.
SME Finance
SME Finance is made up of two activities, SME
Leasing and Short Term Working Finance.
SME Leasing
Within the Navigator Strategy, funding
is provided for credit card terminals. Schedules
of agreements are purchased from independent
resellers of merchant services to SMEs. These
are for contract periods of 24 to 60 months. The
strength of the portfolio is the broad spread of
counterparties, which means that credit risk is
spread over a very wide range of SMEs.
Short Term Working Finance
Short Term Working Finance is the provision of
unsecured lending to small businesses in the
form of short term working capital loans typically
for periods of up to 10 weeks. Usually these loans
are provided to businesses as a supplement or a
replacement for an overdraft facility.
Many SMEs use this facility to expand or
purchase stock. It is frequently used as an
alternative to bank finance.
Corporate Trade Finance
This is a longstanding and well established
market, where finance is provided between a
company and its customers in respect of amounts
due (”receivables”) for goods, or a service,
supplied. For example, the Navigator Strategy
funds telecommunications call financing.
Secured Funding
Businesses can require short term funding to
acquire assets in advance of preparation for
onward sale; property bridge finance being an
example. Navigator looks to fund short term
bridge finance, with strong security over the
property and a low loan to value. The loan is
repaid once the developer has long term bank
finance in place or has secured an onward scale.
