    Note on Business Strategy Assignment

    Business Strategy Assignment is an integral part of the

    continuous assessment. The assignment carries 20 marks.

    The assignment aims at helping the students apply conceptual

    knowledge/domain knowledge in the context of a particular

    company opted by the students themselves.

    Every student is expected to select a company of his/her

    choice for the purpose of this assignment and notify the same

    to the faculty through class representative.

    Last date of submitting the assignment is 12 September 2013

    till 11:00 PM. Late submission till 11:00 PM on 15 September

    2013 is possible. However, 4 marks will be deducted from the

    overall score in the assignment in case of late submission.

    Assignments should be submitted online (no hardcopies

    please) at [email protected]

    Please use Times New Roman and 12 Font-size unless stated

    otherwise. Chapter titles should be Times New Roman, 16

    Font-size. Headings and sub-headings should be Times New

    Roman, 12 Font-size, Bold

    Format of the assignment is given as under:

    o Title page:

    the name of the company) Times New Roman, 16 Font-

    o Introduction: In this chapter please provide a brief

    historical account of the company, its products/services,

    composition of Board of Directors (with names if

    available on their website or other reliable sources),

    Vision Statement, Mission and critical assessment of the

    mission statement, Statement, Statement of Values,

    Code of Conduct, and Concluding Remarks (where you

    provide your own assessment of the company withrespect to its strategic challenges, future growth

    potential etc.)

    o External Environment of the Company: In this chapter,

    please provide External Factor Evaluation of the

    company using EFE Matrix. However, in the beginning of

    the chapter, you should provide an overview of the

    external environment in which the company is operating

    and towards the end provide your concluding remarks

    describing key opportunities and threats.

    o Internal Environment of the Company: In this chapter,

    please provide Internal Factor Evaluation of the

    company using IFE Matrix. However, in the beginning of

    the chapter, you should provide an overview of the

    internal environment in which the company is operating

    and towards the end provide your concluding remarks

    describing key strengths and weaknesses.

    o Strategy Analysis & Choice of the Company: DevelopSWOT Analysis Matrix and BCG Matrix of the Company.

    Towards the end, provide your concluding remarks,

    putting forth your own analysis of the companys

    strategies.

    o Conclusion and Reflection on Learning: In this chapter,

    please provide your own overall assessment of the

    company with respect to strategy, external

    environment, internal environment, SWOT Analysis andBCG Matrix. Towards the end of the chapter, provide a

    reflection on how this project helped you in terms of

    understanding the concepts and applying the same in

    practice.

    o While doing the assignment, think as if you were an

    outside insider of the company.

    o You are free to use resources available on the internet in

    order to develop the assignment. However, mentionsources of information wherever possible.

    o There is no word limit. You can use your discretion in

    determining length of the assignment. Marks will be

    given on the basis of quality of content rather than

    number of words used in the assignment.
