SKIL is designed to provide you with instructions on how to learn independently regardless of the subject you are studying. Just follow the instructions on the cards.

SKIL cards each contain a list of easy instructions on how to carry out different effective learning strategies. They can be accessed in a number of different ways. During SKIL sessions hosted by your subject department. During Open SKIL sessions. On Moodle by following the ‘Independent Learning’ tab at the

bottom of the home page. Displayed on the wall in common study areas. Given by your teacher.They can be used for: Individual learning Learning in study groups Learning in friendship groups Learning at home Learning in study periods Doing homework For tasks in class

You can gain certificates to show & celebrate the effort and achievement you put into developing your SKIL by providing evidence outlined in this and other cards. Once you have collected all the evidence return it to your SKIL coordinator or Dr. Ravetz. There are three certificates to collect: Bronze Silver GoldYou can also go one step further and become a SKIL mentor and gain the Platinum & Platinum Plus certificates.
