Daniel Andai

Hailed by The New York Times as an

“Exemplary Leader” for leading members

of the New York Philharmonic in Carnegie Hall,

violinist Daniel Andai has shared his versatile

artistry as a soloist, recitalist, chamber

musician, concertmaster and recording

artist in major concert venues across five

continents, the Middle East, the Caribbean and

over 30 United States. Honored as one of “20

under 40” from both Poder Magazine and The

Miami Herald for exerting influence over the

arts, he is also a prize winner of international

competitions and has appeared as soloist

with orchestras in North, South and Central

Americas, as well as Europe and Russia.

Daniel Andai is the concertmaster of The Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO) and founder of

MISO’s Special Development Program. He has performed as a soloist with MISO on multiple

occasions and on their Evening in Vienna CD’s. He has also guest conducted the Alhambra

Orchestra and MISO, in Miami and the Bahamas. Previously, he held the concertmaster

position with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas in New York with whom he

recorded, as concertmaster and soloist, the Billboard’s highly rated SONY Records Classical

CD’s, Mi Alma Mexicana and Travieso Carmesi, as well as being featured as soloist on the

orchestra’s tours throughout Mexico, Vermont and New York. His televised solo appearances

at the Auditorio National and the Angel of Independence for a crowd of millions are highly

regarded in addition to his solo features on major global airlines, particularly AeroMexico

and Virgin Atlantic. Other concertmaster positions have been with various orchestras in

Mexico, Brazil, Switzerland and France. He has also performed in the sections of the New

York Philharmonic and the Miyazaki Festival Orchestra (Japan), and worked closely with

members of the Emerson, Guarneri, Chiara, Vermeer, Cassatt, and Miami String Quartets,

the New York Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony, Metropolitan Opera, Berlin Philharmonic,

Vienna Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Chicago Symphony, New York City Ballet and

New York City Opera, among others.

Daniel Andai is currently the Marialice Shivers Endowed Chair in Fine Arts and Violin

Professor at the University of Texas Pan American and serves on the faculties of the Miami-

Dade College, New World School of the Arts (Miami) and the Killington Music Festival

(Vermont). He has served on the advisory board for the City of Aventura Performing Arts

Center, as an Arts for Life! guest speaker and a Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs Council grant

panelist. Having earned a doctorate of music degree in Miami, he also holds degrees from

the Manhattan School of Music Orchestra Program (Bronstein Award & Whitaker Scholarship

recipient) and Lynn University.

Nuno Antunes

Nuno Antunes is the associate principal clarinetist of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas and a member of IRIS orchestra. His love for chamber music led to the creation of

The Gene Project, a unique combination of clarinet, bassoon, and harp. Antunes collaborates regularly with several chamber music groups, and is a member of the Ensemble 54 clarinet quartet. Antunes was a member of the clarinet faculty of E.P.A.B.I. (1999-2003), C.N.R. Leiria (2001-2002), and C.M.M. Lisbon (2000-2002). Presently, Antunes teaches clarinet at the Horace Mann School, and is on the faculty for Praxis Youth Leadership Orchestra.

Adrian Morejon

Praised for his “teeming energy” and “precise control” by the New York Times, Adrian Morejon is co-principal bassoonist of the IRIS Orchestra, the Miami Symphony, and is

a member of Sospiro Winds, Talea Ensemble, Metropolis Ensemble, bassoon duo Dark & Stormy, and The Gene Project. An avid chamber musician, Morejon has performed with the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players, Argento Chamber Ensemble, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Chamber Music Northwest, and on the Great Performers’ Series at Lincoln Center. Morejon regularly performs with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), and others.
