Straight Away News January 2018 First, I would like to give a big THANK YOU to all the people who volunteer their valuable time and resources in order for us to have a very successful and safe racing venue. The 2017 Speed Week had suitable conditions for many records to be set. Although the salt conditions were a bit rough, we managed to have three courses and a full race week. We had a long course, short course and a rookie course. In the latter half of the week the long course became a combination short and long course as the event came to an end. We really did the best we could with what we had. Mother Nature decided to wash out our World Finals event. Let’s hope Mother Nature works better with us for 2018. This year the BNI membership dues have been raised $10.00 from previous years due to larger expenses. Now is the time to renew for 2018. Membership form is included in this newsletter along with the expired numbers list. Please contact JoAnn in the office regarding number assignments. We would like to thank all of the kindhearted GOLD members and especially the Major Sponsors for their very generous donations. Remember the BNI Gold Membership has many privileges and special benefits, in support of the Southern California Timing Association and Bonneville Nationals, Inc. We look forward to seeing all of you at our events during the 2018 racing season! Remember faster is better, most of the time! Thank you!
