MEANINGMEANING The word “AUTOMOBILE” is derived from

two different words. The word “AUTO” means a way of work

being done without any manual aid. The word “MOBILE” means an system which

moves around.

HISTORYHISTORY The earliest AUTOMOBILES were powered by steam

engines. Petrol and Diesel engines were started to be used in late

19th century. Some AUTOMOBILE companies are more than or close to

100 years (e.g.: Benz, Fiat, Renault, Chevrolet etc). A four wheeler is divided into Right Hand Drive (RHD) and

Left Hand Drive (LHD). In India AUTOMOBILES are driven in RHD variant. Modern vehicles are Technologically advanced, superior

and safe on roads.
