1. Instructors for the college will receive a Course Request form from college administration (approximately three months prior to the start of the semester.

- Instructors receive notification about completing the form through an e-mail sent by college administration.

- Instructors must complete and submit the forms online – documenting the courses they want to teach, the delivery method (online, blended, on campus) and the semester-type (i.e., full, express, A or B semester, etc.)

- College administration reviews instructor requests.

College administration processes instructor’s request, schedules courses and distributes contracts.

2. College administration processes instructor requests, and schedules courses

- Courses are posted to the college’s online portal – for instructor review

- College administration creates and distributes contracts for instructor compensation.

- Instructors complete, sign and return those contracts.

The college’s Instructional Technology team posts empty “course shells” to the learning management system…

…Instructor begins the process of loading course content into the empty “shells”.

3. The college’s Instructional Technology team creates and posts “course shells” to the learning management system.

- The instructor accesses these empty “shells” by logging-in to the college’s LMS – using his/her credentials.

- Instructor creates/finalizes course content, syllabus and weekly assignments (based upon the college’s academic calendar)

- The instructor loads course content into the empty “shells”.

- Courses should be complete and ready at least one week prior to start of semester.

Instructor “enables” courses to ensure student access…

4. Instructor “enables” courses to ensure students have access on the day the semester is scheduled to begin.

- Instructor should carefully review all course content – including all assignments, assessments and Syllabus – to ensure accuracy (especially for due dates).

- Instructor should post “Welcome” announcement to homepage of course website – which includes an overview of the “Week 1 Assignments”

- Instructor should also send a “Welcome” e-mail message to students (including the same information as the “Welcome” announcement.
