Story and NarrativeThe main storyline which occurs on a regular basis on an action genre, is that in the opening scene they show an action sequence which directly relates to the movie or by having a scene which persuades people to want to watch the movie. the main thing which happens in the storyline for an action movie is the way in which the main character faces a problem and usually gets backed against the wall from opposition from multiple places and slowly the character loses hope to win but then something completely out of the blue occurs and the main character find a way out of the issue.

This can relate to the Propp theory since Vladimir Propp, classified characters into specific categories that films would always fall onto such as how the hero is always attempting to seek out something this could be to save someone or to stop something happening, but there is always a villain with a main purpose to half the story and cease the narrative so the main character will not achieve his storyline. In some action movies such as Fast 6 the role of a false hero is highly played since a character who is portrayed as the hero is later revealed to be the enemy and the villain. This way the story will further engross the audience since this would enable them to not want to cease watching the story since there is so much to storyline which was not shown to them and they did not have a reason to suspect what might happen so the role of having a false hero is an aspect which can be conventional my genre.

I think the role of princess and her father is another aspect which is highly used in the story and narratives of action movies, since in most action movies there is always a potential love interest this can be shown through all the fast and furious movies and in the movie battleships this is shown as the main character who is usually the hero and a male seeking out a love interest but is halted by a protective father figure however at various times this is not the case, in some movies the ‘father’ figure could be replaced by a brother or in some cases step brother or mother.

This way the storyline will take on a sub-genre such as an aspect of romance which could have action inserted in it as the female would soon become in danger of being caught and taken which would lead for an increased story and narrative being enabled into the extract.
