Due to a system conversion to SAP in 2012, our article numbers have changed to material numbers.
The previous article numbers have become material numbers with 2 extra digits:old: 123456-789 (article number):new: 11234561789 (material number)To illustrate this in the catalogue, we have visually identified the additional digits: 1 = 1, e.g.: 11234561789
Please note that in the system all quotations, order confirmations, dispatch notes and invoices will largely only be issued with the 11-digit number.

1 STORMWATER MANAGEMENT – WHAT fOR?
Using stormwater and/or efficient percolationApart from the worldwide climatic change, which has led to a noticeable change in the number of times it rains, the increasing sealing of previously natural areas is mainly responsible for the perma-nent change of draining precipitation and their distribution. Long dry spells are often followed by extreme precipitation, which cannot directly percolate due to the increasing sealing of surfaces.
Due to this, an increasing share of the rain quantity is collected and drained and is therefore no longer available for replenishing the natural groundwater. On the other hand, increasing drainage quantities and peaks lead to an overloading of the sewer systems, sewage treatment plants as well as drainage ditch and therefore increasing the risk of flooding.
This trend can be counteracted by handling the rainwater responsibly and by means of a sustainable stormwater management.
Whereas rainwater had been drained via sewer systems as quickly and as extensively as possible in the past, separation systems and decentralised stormwater management are preferred today. In doing so the water can be collected for later use or can be percolated close to the property.
REHAU offers you - Support in solving the problem with many years of experience and relevant know-how - Individual and solution-related consultation during dimensioning and planning as well as support during the installation on site - Various system solutions with perfectly coordin-ated components for your individual problems - Innovative, durable and ecological products

Water is a precious resource and we have to act with consideration in order to save water supplies and waters for future generations and to maintain them in their natural condition. The ecological stormwater management in central and decentra-lised plants is therefore considered essential nowadays. It has a positive impact on the natural water balance and in addition to this, is particularly economically efficient for property owners thanks to shared sewage charges. The systems used must be adaptable to the respective installation situation and provide a long-term solution. REHAU offers a comprehensive solution for the ecological and economically efficient stormwater management ranging from the collection, transport, cleaning to the decentralised percolation, retention and rainwater usage with the RAUSIKKO system.
The polymer reservoir block RAUSIKKO Box made of polypropylene (PP) has a large storage capacity of 95 percent and is therefore also a solution for restricted spaces. In light of the necessary installation situation and safety, the static load-bearing capacity of underground storage systems plays an increasingly important role. The RAUSIKKO Box is now also available as a heavy duty version for the highest of static load-bearing requirements. It is extremely stable in vertical as well as horizontal direction with its additionally integrated support elements, with which even large installation depths can be implemented providing a high safety standard at the same time.

1 RAUSIKKO sedimentation units
The protection of the groundwater and the ground is of utmost importance during percolation of stormwater. The dirt particle sand hazardous substances contained in percolation water must be effectively retained before they can reach the soakaway or the soil. The conventional method to percolate the stormwater via the activated ground zone is often not possible due to the amount of space required. In these cases, systems, which have to be installed underground, are required. The RAUSIKKO sedimentation plants working safely and effectively are also easy to maintain and can also be installed underneath surfaces with heavy traffic load. The cleaning performance of RAUSIKKO plants has been confirmed by an independent testing institute.
2 RAUSIKKO C3 SYSTEM CHAMBER
Chamber systems play a vital role in percolation units and carry out various roles. The RAUSIKKO C3 system chamber, which can be directly integrated into the infiltration or the retention unit, is a real multifunctional allrounder. This easy and space-saving installation minimises construction costs. In addition to this, the system chamber combines three different functions. On the one hand, it can connect to pipes of dimensions ranging from DN 250 to 500 as well as a direct connection to the RAUSIKKO box cleaning channel DN 250. On the other hand, an inspection camera can be easily inserted into it for a regular inspection of the connected RAUSIKKO Boxes. In addition to this, the boxes can be high-pressure rinsed easily through him.
3 RAUSIKKO Box
Smooth, uninterrupted and permanent functioning of block systems for rainwater percolation is a basic prerequisite for the sustainability of a stormwater management system. This was borne in mind when designing the RAUSIKKO Box system. Depending on the requirement, the box can be fitted with an integ-rated distribution, inspection and cleaning channel with staggered slots to achieve a even distribution of water across the entire block system. It can be flushed with up to 120 bar and clearly separates the sedimentation from the percolation zone. While impurities settle in the sedimentation zone, the water, which is evenly distributed across the staggered slots, reaches the percolation zone of the infiltration unit. This prevents the geotextile filter surrounding the infiltration unit from blocking, which enables a long-term and failure-free function of the system.
4 THROTTLING CHAMBER DN 1000
It is necessary to channel a small portion of the water produced into an extending drainage ditch (storm sewer or body of water) since percolation units with which the stormwater is discharged cannot be fully percolated due to the poor water permeability of the ground. To this end, a throttling device has to be installed at the end of the percolation unit, which ensures an adequate throttling of the effluent. Flow reducers are also required for stormwater retention reservoir. The RAUSIKKO throttling chamber DN 1000 with the throttling component installed in the plan enables an easy and effective control of the effluent. No external energy (electricity supply) other than this is required and it is easy to handle. It is therefore very suitable for all cases, which require a space-saving and easy to maintain flow reducer.

The RAUSIKKO Box with its integrated distribution, inspection and cleaning channel makes a difference. The channel ensures that the sedimentation and percolation zones are clearly separated. Impurities settle on the sedimentation zone (sedimentation). The purified water then reaches the percolation zone via staggered slots, which ensure that the water is perfectly distribut-ed. The percolation zone and therefore the percolation nonwovens remain clean ensuring the long-term and smooth function of the system without costly maintenance measures.

Water distribution and retention of contaminants with integrated cleaning channel
Function of the distribution/inspection and cleaning channel: - The cleaning channel into which the stormwater is discharged, is consistently separated from the percolation area and the geosynthe-tic material - The rainwater is slowed down so that particulate matter and sediments can settle on the closed floor - The rainwater that is free of particulate matter leaks out of the slits in the sides of the cleaning channel and into the percolation area, from where it drains into the nearby soil - The staggered slits in the cleaning channel assist in the distribution and the slowing down process for optimum sedimentation - The cleaning channel can be inspected with conventional equipment and can be rinsed at high pressure (120 bar)

The RAUSIKKO Box C is a new generation within the tried and tested RAUSIKKO Box systems and represents a further step towards ecological and economic stormwater management with its concept. This is a storage system that only shows its true strength on the construction site. In order to achieve this, the storage elements are nested for storage and transport and are stacked for installation. Thanks to this, the storage and transport volume is only approx. 30 % of the subsequent gross volume of the storage elements installed on the construction site. The frequently limited storage areas at the construction site are also accounted for thanks to the reduced storage volume. Transport, handling and installation of the ultra light-weight storage elements on the construction site are very easy and can be carried out quickly and safely. In their installed condition, RAUSIKKO Box C elements show their true strength and offer a storage coefficient of 95 % making it possible to store a large quantity of water in the most restricted of spaces.
In order to guarantee the unique functionality of the entire RAUSIKKO system, the RAUSIKKO Box C is compatible with the well-known and tried and tested RAUSIKKO Boxes SC and can be easily combined with them. In order to guarantee the unrestricted and permanent function of the infiltration unit or the storage system, the RAUSIKKO Boxes SC can be used with integrated distribution, inspection and cleaning channel with staggered slots for an even distribution of water in the entire storage system as required.
A quick and safe installation is guaranteed thanks to integrated clip-on lugs and the possibility of connection to the masonry (offset structure). The storage elements ensure the well-known stability of the RAUSIKKO Box systems designed in this way, and can be installed without problems below heavy traffic loads SLW60.
The advantages at a glance:Low storage and transport volumeStorage coefficient 95 %Easy to handle and safe assemblySafe and easy installation thanks to integrated clip-on lugs and possibility of offset design (connection to the masonry)High load-bearing capacity, can even be installed under heavy traffic loads Combinable with the RAUSIKKO Box SC with integrated distribution/inspection/cleaning channel

Questions about the options of an effective rainwater treatment – also beyond natural cleaning mechanisms e g ground passages, are becoming increasingly the focus of planning and installation of infiltration units This may in lead to a seemingly contradictory result between required cleaning and the space available to do this
Task: - Ditch or ditch infiltration trench systems with a high space require-ment can often not be implemented in inner cities - Planning and implementation of ditches significantly limits the desired design freedom of a project - Stormwater (e.g. of traffic areas) can be polluted by contaminants to a varying extent - Groundwater protection is increasingly important
REHAU systems: - RAUSIKKO inlet chamber as sand/silt trap in nominal widths DN 400, 500 and 1000 - RAUSIKKO sedimentation (type M/type R) for mechanical pre-treatment of precipitation water - Underground installation therefore no space used on the surface - Applying the sedimentation principle in order to filter out contami-nants attached to the particle from the precipitation water
Your benefits when using REHAU systems: - Installation under areas, which are passed over, without problems - Slight adjustment of the system to the size of the connected area - High retention volume for light liquids e.g. in the event of a disaster - Evidence of treatment to advisory sheet DWA-M 153 - Simple inspection and cleaning of units - Checked by the Institute for Underground Infrastructure Ltd. (IKT)
32
Draining precipitation water is contaminated in different ways depending on its origin The advisory sheet DWA-M 153 provides help to assess the contamination from the air and of the surface and to define requirements for the pre-treatment depending on the water it is discharged into
REHAU develops products due to this reason, which allow an underground pre-treatment of precipitation water ac-cording to the state-of-the-art
The majority of the contaminants contained in the draining precipitat-ion water has absorbed to small solid particles (particle attachment). These contaminants can be effectively removed from the water with mechanical processes such as sedimentation or floating processes.
The information contained in this chapter regarding mechanical pre-treatment of precipitation water correspond to the specifications of the DWA advisory sheet M 153 of the „German Association for Water management, Waste water and Waste” (DWA).
These concern the following treatment systems: - RAUSIKKO inlet chamber with silt trap and light liquid retention - RAUSIKKO sedimentation type M - RAUSIKKO sedimentation type R
The suitable precipitation treatment equipment can be selected using the below selection matrix. During this process, the system to be used is selected based on the transmission calculated according to advisory sheet DWA-M 153 and the surface to be connected. An inlet chamber can also precede a sedimentation unit.

For further requirements, in particular if limit values for the concentra-tion of dissolved contaminants (e.g. copper or zinc ions) have to be adhered to, we recommend the use of RAUSIKKO HydroClean for physical-chemical pre-treatment.
33
The RAUSIKKO sedimentation ensures an effective retention of minute particles Gravity is used to create a separation of contaminants and water with pollution In the permanently retained sedimentation volume the fine particles sink to the bottom due to the rising flow
The purified water is removed in the upper area and feed to the infiltration unit
Structure: - Cylinder with a different length = variable sedimentation area - Inlet pipe DN 400 or DN 250 (connection of smaller dimensions is possible via reducing fittings) - Installation below areas, which are passed over is possible without problems (cast covers class D 400 in the scope of delivery) - For type R (design as per groundwater protection regulations) additional scum board to reduce the vertical flow on the outlet
Advantages: - Adaption to the connected area by means of different overall lengths (3 m, 6 m and 9 m ) is possible - Effective removal of contaminants from the rainwater - Calculable to advisory sheet DWA-M 153 - No space required on the surface thanks to underground installation - Traffic load of the unit up to SLW 60 is possible - Excellent accessibility of the unit for inspection and cleaning purposes - Cleaning with conventional technology is possible (extraction of sediment with the contaminants) - Universal inlet and outlet, which can be rotated by 360 ° - High retention volume for light liquids in the event of failures (e.g. if an accident occurs involving leaking fuel) - Compact design - Minimum height loss between inlet and outlet - Fast installation is possible, as delivered as a complete package
Possible pre-treatments: - Transmission value 0.65 to 0.5 for type M (corresponds to D24 or D 25 as per the DWA advisory sheet M 153) - Transmission value = 0.20 for type R (corresponds to D21 as per DWA advisory sheet M 153) - Maximum dimension of area to be connected (Ared) of 500 – 14500 m2, details see table on page 33.
