The plant shall be located under a sunshade. Fuel storage tank will comply with all force protection requirements, environmental requirements and shall comply with UL-142 for above ground storage tanks. The storage of fuels shall consist of aboveground horizontal steel tanks with a secondary containment system. Secondary containment system shall be integral with the tank or shall consist of a concrete containment dike and will be designed to 110% of the fuel tank capacity. The dike structure shall be constructed of reinforced concrete. All above ground fuel piping will be threaded flanged connection and pressure tested. The tank shall be complete with fill tube and cap, suction tube, tank gage, vent, emergency vent and other fittings and appurtenances required for full and safe operation. The tank shall be provided with support saddles or runners, platform/stair and be anchored to the concrete containment pad. Fuel shall be transferred from the primary bulk storage tank(s) by duplex transfer pumps into individual day tanks for each generator, sized for eight (8) hours of continuous operation at full load. Coordinate fuel tank plumbing fittings with base to facilitate refueling. Fuel shall be transferred from the individual day tanks to the generator by its transfer pump with return piping back to the tank as recommended by the generator manufacture. Fuel piping shall be black carbon steel piping located above grade and in conformance with NFPA 30 Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code. Fuel systems shall include provision for unloading fuel from tankers into bulk storage tanks. Provide fuel tanks with all necessary low level, high level and high-high level setpoints and alarms for control and notifications of fuel levels. 7.3.1 Day Tank Day tank for each gen-set shall incorporate secondary containment and be located under the gen-set as a skid mounted, 'belly' tank. Fuel oil storage shall have capacity for 8 hours of generator operation at full-load. Day tank shall be provided with fuel pump if recommended by gen-set manufacturer, fill cap, vent, drain plug, fuel level indicator and engine supply and return connections. Its supports, anchors and saddles shall be as per tank manufacturer's recommendations. Tank and its accessories shall have coating suitable for outdoor installation and site weather conditions. Tank shall comply with UL-142. 7.4 Filling System A fuel filling system shall be provided for unloading fuel from fuel tanker into individual bulk storage tanks comprising of truck pad(s), spill containment fill connection, piping manifold and valves. The system shall provide remote fuel level monitoring panels at the pad(s). SECTION 01 80 00.12 10 Page 27

7.3 Generator Fuel Storage/Distribution

Fuel Oil Storage and Distribution shall be provided to support operation of prime power engine driven electrical generators fueled by diesel fuel operating for a minimum of 7 days at full load operation.

7.3.1 Day Tank

Day tank for each gen-set shall incorporate secondary containment and be located under the gen-set as a skid mounted, 'belly' tank.

7.4 Filling System

A fuel filling system shall be provided for unloading fuel from fuel tanker into individual bulk storage tanks comprising of truck pad(s), spill containment fill connection, piping manifold and valves. The system shall provide remote fuel level monitoring panels at the pad(s).
