Please slow down for summer school, school zones
School zone lights will start flashing on Monday, June 17 at ALL North East ISD campuses to warn drivers to slow down for students attending summer school. School zones will be in effect at all campuses, whether flashers are in place or not.
School zone lights will flash at all elementary and middle school campuses. Lights will only flash at the Lee campus for high schools.
In addition to the campuses serving as summer school sites, all North East schools serve as collection points for students to board buses and ride to the campuses offering the summer programs. Although the schools may appear empty, students will be walking in the area to board buses at these collection points, requiring vehicles to slow down as they approach.
More information about NEISD’s summer school can be found at:h t t p : / / w w w. n e i s d . n e t / c u r r i c u l u m / C u r C o m p /SummerSchool/2013/SummerSchool.html

Stone Oak Achitectural Review Committee
One of the more frequently asked questions here at the POA is concerning home improvement projects. Residents of Stone Oak should always check with their neighborhood HOA before starting an exterior home project - such as a major landscaping project (such as is suggested by the SAWS rebate article in this newsletter), building a deck, pool, driveway expansion, exterior painting, etc. Many of our neighborhoods have strict rules regarding these types of projects, and require Architectural Review Committee approval prior to starting. Usually routine maintenance is not required to be submitted, but always check with your neighborhood HOA prior to beginning any exterior work.
For those who are curious, Stone Oak holds businesses accountable for exterior work as well. The POA has an Architectural Review Committee. Any new construction within Stone Oak is required to come before the Committee for approval prior to building. All commercial property owners are required to submit all signage, exterior paint changes, window clings, flagpoles and flags, and any other visible exterior changes. These submittals are necessary to ensure all buildings within Stone Oak are built within the guidelines set forth in the Stone Oak Master Plan. The Master Plan can be viewed on our website at www.stoneoakpoa.com.
So now that we’ve hit the heat of summer, that backyard pool may sound like a good plan- but before you start building, call your neighborhood HOA to see what their process is. Watch out for our students out of school, and enjoy our Texas summer!

SAWS WaterSaver Landscape Coupon
Toss out a portion of your lawn and replace it with a water-saving garden bed. And SAWS will give you a $100 coupon to do it!**
The WaterSaver Landscape Coupon pilot program encourages SAWS residential water customers to transform portions of their traditional lawns by removing grass and creating garden beds made up of hardy, drought-tolerant plants.
They have simplified water-wise landscaping by using a plant-by-numbers approach. Qualified SAWS water customers will receive a $100 coupon toward the purchase of a pre-planned, garden bed package at participating retailers. There are two plant package options: full sun and partial shade. Each package includes 15 drought-tolerant plants, 1 cubic yard of mulch, a garden bed plan and a plant care guide. The coupon covers a portion of the plant package cost.*
Program DetailsResidential customers must meet these eligibility •requirements: (a.) Must be a SAWS water customer. (b.) Must be the homeowner.Participants can apply online or fill out a paper •

Prepare For The Summer With Energy-
Saving Tips
Summer officially started June 21 and mosquitoes and hot, humid days are already here, as the rains of May evaporate. Forecasters predict this summer will be hotter than 2012 and consequently, air conditioners will go into overdrive resulting in increased energy consumption. Compared to last year, CPS Energy customers can expect to pay on average about nine percent more per month.
CPS Energy offers the following tips to help reduce the amount of electricity customers buy:
Have the central AC and duct system properly •checked by a professional contractor. Air conditioners require regular maintenance to work at their peak.Buy an energy-efficient central AC and qualify •for rebates of $100 to $225 per ton. For more information, call 210-353-2SAV (353-2723) or visit cpsenergysavers.com.Set thermostat between 78-80 degrees. For •added savings, get a free programmable thermostat from CPS Energy.Clean and replace air conditioner filters every •two weeks during the summer.Use fans to feel 3 to 4 degrees cooler than the •actual room temperature.Seal air leaks around doors and windows•
For more conservation tips and rebates on energy-efficient appliances, visit cpsenergy.com.

1 APR = Annual Percentage Rate. Introductory rate offer good on applications received 4/29/13 through 8/3/13 on 15-year Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) program. All loans subject to credit approval, verification and collateral evaluation. Refinance of Broadway Bank Home Equity Loan or Line of Credit requires $10,000 new money. To obtain introductory rate on existing bank HELOC, account must be at least 24-months-old and approved for a $25,000 line amount increase. Rates, terms and conditions are subject to change without notice. Variable rate shown is for lines $50,000 and over and assumes excellent borrower credit history. Introductory rate of 1% APR is fixed for the first 6 months. Thereafter, Home Equity Line of Credit rates are variable and are calculated by adding a margin to the Wall Street Journal Prime rate as published in the Wall Street Journal. As of 4/30/13 the Wall Street Journal Prime rate was 3.25% and the APR range was 3.99%-11.49%. Maximum APR is 18%. We will set your variable APR based on your individual circumstances including your credit history, loan amount, loan term, and our internal credit criteria. 2 Standard closing costs up to $300 are paid by the bank and may include a title search, credit report, property inspection, flood certification, and filing fees. Does not include appraisal, title insurance and survey costs if required. Property insurance will be required including flood insurance where applicable. Other closing costs can range from approximately $350 (on lines up to $150,000) to $4,000 (on lines above $150,000 to $250,000). All home equity lines must be secured by a 1-4 family, owner-occupied primary residence. Conditions and restrictions apply. Larger lines and other programs available. Please ask us for details. 3 Consult your tax advisor regarding deductibility of interest.

Camp includes a Rattler T shirt and small group time with the Reagan coaches. The younger students get to work with some of the Rattler players as well! Athletes will learn drills that will increase speed, flexibility, and knowledge of the game. Students will need to wear cool athletic clothing, cleats, and bring a labeled water bottle and sweat towel. Use the back gate to enter the facility and drive to the football field, which is in the back. (Huebner entrance) You can register early by mailing the registration in or bring these two entry forms on the first day of camp. Please arrive early on the first day. You will get a wristband as you arrive to show that you are registered. Wear this wristband each day.
Attention youth football coaches: We invite you to encourage your team to join in this camp together. This experience will allow your team to grow as a team player while becoming familiar with the Reagan campus, 2013 Varsity players and coaches. Our staff and athletes would like to meet you and your team and thank you for molding these future athletes into Rattlers!
