GOLF DAY
2019
Thank you very much for taking part in ourGolf Day which directly supports theStockport Grammar School Bursary Fund.
I am extremely proud of the achievementsof Stockport Grammar School’s pupils. Girlsand boys join us from a wide variety ofdifferent schools at age 11 and 16 and thiscontributes to the vibrant nature of ourcommunity. As well as securing outstandingacademic qualifications in an aspirationaland hard-working culture, the rich extra-curricular life of the school encourageschildren to develop their talents to the full. This programme features just a few examplesof the many ways in which our pupils havetaken full advantage of the opportunitiesopen to them to excel.
The Bursary Fund enables children fromStockport and the surrounding areas, whosefamilies cannot afford the school fees, to
benefit from the excellent education that weoffer. Your support for the fund allows us tomake a tangible and profound difference tothe education and life chances of youngpeople from disadvantaged backgrounds, allowing them to aspire to positions ofsuccess and influence in our society andgiving them the skills and character strengthsthey will need to flourish. Every contributiongoes directly towards educating youngpeople and I am most grateful to you foryour generosity. I hope that you enjoy theday.

‘My daughter was academically stretched andthis resulted in 10 A* at GCSE level and 4 atA Level. She left school to go to her first choiceof college at Oxford. When I visit her and askhow she is, her reply is always “living thedream dad”. That this dream became realitywas due in a large part to her years at SGS.
I will always be grateful to the Bursary Fund forthe help freely given, which has given mydaughter such a great start in life.’
