S T O C K I N G S C H E D U L E
The actual stocking dates are not released to the public because the day often
changes without notice and causes many anglers to end up waiting for a truck
that doesn’t arrive. The most up-to-date information on stockings is available
by calling our Kansas City Regional Office at 816/525-0300 ext. 4001. Your
presence at the lake when the fish are stocked is not necessary to have good
fishing. The fish that are stocked haven’t been fed for several days and will be
hungry, but it usually takes a day or so for them to recover from the trip and
begin biting. Most stocked channel catfish average a pound. The following
table gives the TENTATIVE stocking schedule for 2018.

Purpose:
Since 1978, the Missouri Department of Conservation has stocked Kansas City area park lakes with channel catfish from April to September. This program is designed to provide urban anglers with close-to-home fishing. In 1992, the program was expanded to provide year-round fishing by stocking trout in November, February and March.

The following table lists the lakes that are stocked with channel catfish. The map on the facing page gives a relative location of each of the stocked lakes. Regulations:
Special regulations apply; see signs posted at lakes. Missouri residents over 15 and under 65 years of age, and non-residents over 15, need a Missouri Fishing Permit. The following special regulations also apply: Fish may be taken by pole and line only, and no more than three poles and lines may be used by any one person. The daily limit is 4 catfish.
