Title: “The Proper Moral Conduct and Behaviour in a Vajrayana Centre”

The objective of this forum is to provide the opportunity to create self-awareness of our mental and physical actions that can affect others around us as an individual, awareness of our temple direction as a group and the awareness that our Centre’s activity will relate to the community (both local and oversee) and nation as a whole in this era of internet communication .

The needs to have a code of proper conduct and behaviour in our Centre is very important. And this code when established must be actively applied for the good of the Centre. In this respect we must aware the importance of a proper functional EXCO, which can provide a ‘healthy’ life-line to the activities of the Centre, must be the guardian of this code and therefore only work within the jurisdiction of the code.

B. *Pre-Forum Talk on 10 May 2014 Saturday 4pm to 5.30pm

By Khenpo Jamyang Lekshey

There will be a pre-forum Talk by Khenpola to give an overview of the function of the Vajrayana Temple and its activities and the needs of a system to prevent the breakdown of morality and discipline. And the guardian of this system must be the management body of the Centre. Everyone knows every monastic order have a very stringent set of vows, and rules and regulations to follow in daily life, and these when translate to the Vajrayana aspect may be interpret differently by a lay person who are not familiar. As a Vajrayana Centre, we need to understand these aspects so as to have harmony and dispel misunderstanding in our daily Centre’s activity.

We wish Khenpola can give us an insight into the proper moral conduct and behaviour in such a monastic institution and how we can apply to a Centre where lay patrons dominate the on-going activities of the Centre.

We welcome all to attend this very important and yet seldom discussed topic that is very important for the proper function and harmony of a Vajrayana Centre.

*The afternoon discussion of the Post Lam Dre study group with Khenpo will be cancelled .
