Ophelia, by the English artist John Everett Millais, is perhaps the
most famous and bewitching depiction of Hamlet’s scorned young
lover, right before she drowned herself in a stream.
Modern art, fashion, films, photography and popular culture widely refer
to Millais’ painting. It was completed between 1851-2.
