Firstly the trailer begins by setting the scene with an establishing shot, this creates mystery and tension as it is a dark scene with a spooky mansion. The significance of an establishing shot is, it shows where the majority of the film is going to take place. This is typical to a genre of a thriller or horror as the films don’t really move onto many different places and they start off quite mysterious.

Another camera shot used, was two master shots showing the inside of the mansion. The effectiveness of the shot is for the scene to be long enough to show all the dimensions of the room. It maintains a steady pace of the scene. It adds suspense as it is very dark. The conventions of form are ideal because, they are very similar to other trailers where they set the scene and make you expect the unexpected.

Another conventional shot used, was a close up shot. This is typical because it is showing the venerable young lady showing confusion in her face. Both images show that she is always being looked down upon creating the sterotype that she is not a very useful woman and will be an easy target for any upcoming danger. By having a close up it shows conventions to the genre as, it shows the facial expressions of the characters
