Beauty and technologySTILE, the new hydronic space heater available in the powers of 16 and 27 kW opens a new course in the market of the “Home furnishing Warm” with performances of a true boiler and the elegance of the space heaters for inside installation.
The hydronic space heaters STILE, completely automatic and programmable, are true generators of heating with which it is possible to heat the water for the C.H. system and for domestic use (STILE 27). STILE is born from the designing centre of Unical, a leader company in the construction of boilers. Particular attention has been set to the search of the maximum efficiency, large autonomy and maintenance reduction.
The outer casing is the successful integration among: sides panels in steel, enamelled with thermo-resistant powders, divided in three panels easily removable, to access the inside components and the façade with crystal inserts 4 mm thick, that allows the vision of the flame. The access to the reservoir, for the recharges of the pellet, is facilitated thanks to the upper cover. The content of the reservoir:

together with the considerable reduction of the consumptions, allows a notable autonomy of operation.
Autonomy and efficienciesWith a global efficiency up to 90%, together with the maximum autonomy of operation, it will be possible to appreciate the notable level of performance offered by STILE. Besides it is to appreciate The project, finalized to the containment of the dimensions of the pellet reservoir, guarantees an exceptional duration at continuous operation:
STILE 16 up to 19 hours according to the requested temperature
STILE 27 up to ca. 36 hours according to the requested temperature
In the normal use, that foresees startings and standstills, the operation with modulating system will prolong notably the duration of the fuel.
The pelletThe pellet is a natural fuel that has been submitted exclusively to a mechanical treatment for its production (EN 14961-2) and that offers important advantages:
Economic, ca. 30% less expensive than the fuels of fossil origin
Effortless use comfortable small bags or, for large consumptions, stocking in silo
High calorific value 4,1÷5,0 kWh/kg that can vary according its composition (wood essence)
Small residue of ashes
Highly ecological, it recovers the wastes of the working of the wood, conveniently cleaned and dried, compacted at high pressure to form small cylinders, 10 to 30 mm long and with 6 to 8 mm diameter.

Burner constituted by the original crucible with grate in stainless steel AISI 310 S.
Operating systemThe flame is developed in the steel combustion chamber; the produced heat frontally licks up the heat exchanger and then, coming down, crosses the special rear “pockets” completing the circuit. Subsequently, the fan sucks the exhausted smokes carrying them to the chimney. This system of room sealed forced draught with recovery of the smokes temperature maintains unchanged the combustion values for a global efficiency of 90%.
The ignition system, activates an incandescence resistance, making the ignition fully automatic also with pellet of not good quality.
Through the temperature sensor and the programmed microprocessor, the quantity of pellet, necessary to satisfy the needs of the heat, is automatically “dosed” thanks to the motorized feeding screw.
The control’s equipment adjusts the speed of the fan for the combustive air with electronic modulation. As the temperature approaches the planned values, the fan speed, and therefore the supplied power, is automatically reduced to the next lower level (among the 5 available levels), to assure the best combustion, the optimization of the consumptions and, accordingly, the high performance of the appliance.

The panel board of STILE 16 allows to plan:

The management software, once depressed the switching button and accordingly to the programmed times, it will automatically program the lighting of the appliance. After the starting phase, STILE 16 will work to reach the programmed water temperature and when the 50°C are attained the central heating circulation pump will start. The clear diagnostic of the panel board will indicate possible working anomalies. The radio control, standard supplied, will allow to control the appliance from remote, regulating the operation temperature and output.
The panel board Total safety STILE 16 is equipped with the followings devices in order to guarantee the maximum safety:
Fan rotation speed control: it prevents the operation in case of faults in the smoke circuit or defected fan.
Smokes temperature sensor: it checks the maximum efficiency of the appliance through the continuous control of the smoke temperature.
Boiler water temperature sensor: it prevents the boiler exceed the temperature of 85°C.
General safety thermostat: fitted to the pellet reservoir it detects possible anomalies of temperature >85°C. It stops the feeding of the fuel.
Intervention of the safety pressure switch: in case of chimney obstruction it stops the feeding of the fuel.
Safety valve: it protects the boiler and the installation system from exceeding the pressure of 2.5 bar.
Water pressure transducer: it protects the operation of the appliance in case of lack of water in the system.
Black-out: it controls the lack of tension. If the interruption of tension has been shorter than 20 seconds, STILE 16 is automatically restored to the normal operation.

Easy access for inspection and maintenance, thanks to the top cover horizontally sliding (fig. 1), that allows to remove the side panels on both sides of STILE 16 (fig. 2-3-4).

The integral Unical systems
The “alternative Energies” division of Unical is at disposal of the planners for consultation, planning and studying of the best solutions of integral systems for the energetic saving. From the most simple to the most complex, for getting the maximum benefit. In the following example, STILE 16 1 transmit his thermal energy to a special heat accumulator with coil 2 for the production of domestic hot water/heating
water. On the same accumulator, managed by the solar controller 8 , the solar panels 3 furnish the possible captured energy. Through the thermal module M3000S 5 it is possible to exploit the energy accumulated in the Puffer to contemporarily heat a low temperature floor heating system 6 and a radiator heating system 7 . Electronic Chrono-thermostats and external temperature sensor constantly check the level of comfort in each condition.

Technology and design

Double controlled combustion that assures a high efficiency thanks to the injection of primary and secondary air in the crucible.
Burner constituted by the original crucible with grate in stainless steel AISI 310 S.
Refined electronics.
System of operationThe elevated output derives from the double thermal exchange technology. To facilitate the combustion and the reduction of the pressure losses of the hydraulic circuit it has been adopted a smoke pipes structure.
Insofar, the warm gases produced in the combustion
chamber, with a run at inverted “U”, they lick up first frontally the heat exchanger and then, crossing the smoke pipes, its rear part, guaranteeing the elevated efficiency of 85%. The smoke pipes are endowed with helicoidal springs that have the double function, of turbulators and cleaning scrapers, through a practical shacking mechanism.
The down stream fan, develops the double function of air suction and smokes evacuation.
As the temperature approaches the planned values, the fan speed, and therefore the supplied power, is automatically reduced to the next lower level (among the 5 available levels), to assure the best combustion, the optimization of the consumptions and, accordingly, the high performance of the appliance.
The operation management is completely automatic through the pre-adjusted parameters.

The radio control The operation of STILE 27 is managed by the bidirectional radio control with back lighted display that sends to STILE 27 the detected room temperature and allows to plan:

The radio control allows, furthermore, to:• get access to a series of technical under-menus,
protected by access code, allowing to completely program the appliance
• recognize the signalling of 12 possible anomalies for a quick restoration.

(1) The production of A.C.S. depends on the operation of the C.H. pump; this is inhibited up to the attainment of the water temperature, in the appliance, of 40°C. Over this threshold it is necessary to consider the necessary time so that the water’s temperature in the appliance reaches such a degree to allow the heat exchange through the plates heat exchanger. You must also consider a pressure loss due to the heat exchange; insofar the outlet temperature from the D.H.W. heat exchanger will be, with the appliance fully operating and with a water temperature of 80°C, at a continuous drawing of 10 litres per minute, of around 40°C with an inlet cold water of ca. 10°C.
