would like your child’s image
to be published in our year-
book. These images will likely
include a combination of indi-
vidual, close-up images and
group images. We appreci-
ate your understanding and
patience with these follow-up
calls. We merely want to
avoid some students’ images
being unnecessarily left out

March Break
March 2017
As we head into spring, we have much
going on and much to which we look for-
ward! In addition to all the learning that is
happening, there are several sports teams
and clubs happening and staff are in the
process of planning events and excursions
to take place later in the year.
As always, we encourage students to get
involved whenever and wherever possible
in order to get the most out of their time
at Stevensville!
Upcoming this month we have March
Break (March 13th through 17th). We
sincerely hope that families enjoy some
special time together and that everyone
stays safe.
This newsletter contains information about
school functions and upcoming events as
well as recognition for some students who
have had a great month in terms of extra
curricular involvement.
Between newsletters, please check the
Stevensville web site and, of course, the
Homeroom app for important information
and forms!

Yearbook—Do you want to advertise?
Do you think you or someone
you know would be interest-
ed in placing an advertise-
ment in this year’s Stevens-
ville Public School year-
book? The cost for placing a
ad will be $20 for a busi-
ness-card sized space. Pay-
ments can be made by
cheque (payable to Stevens-
ville School), cash, or through

let the office know or email

our yearbooks. Thank you for
your support!

ness card or business-card

March is Nutrition Month
Fruits and veggies are not
only absolutely delicious
but they are nature’s fast
food! Ready to eat and
most come in their own “to-
go” packages, produce
makes the perfect snack
for kids to grab and
go. They need minimal to
no preparation and buy-
ing ones in season means
you can save some money
and shop smarter.
Think you can’t get much
produce on a tight budg-
et? Here are some tips to
make shopping for pro-
duce more easy and af-
fordable:
Don’t shop when you’re
hungry and carry a list.
You’ll be more likely to
stick to your budget
and nutritious food
choices.
Look for washed and
bagged salads, baby
carrots, celery hearts,
broccoli and cauliflow-
er crowns, cherry to-
matoes, and shredded
cabbage in your gro-
cery store
Buy fresh produce, like
peaches or bananas, in
varying degrees of ripe-
ness to allow for some
ripening towards the
end of the week
Canned and frozen veg-
etables can be conven-
ient choices
Spend most of your time
in the produce, bread,
meat and dairy sections
Use store flyers to help
you find specials

Attention Families—Help Needed!
We need your help to
raise money for technolo-
gy! We’ll be hosting a triv-
ia Night at the Fort Erie
Golf Club on Saturday,
April 22.
There are a few ways you
can help us make this night
a success.
Donate items for our
raffle/basket table.
Donate eight (8) iden-
tical prizes for winning
teams. This helps us to
keep costs downs by
not needing to pur-
chase team prizes!
(Examples from last
year: Eight Tim’s
cards, Eight restaurant
gift cards)
Bring a table of adults
our for an exciting
night of trivia featur-
ing the famous Quiz-
master Kells! If you
don’t have a table of
eight, you can still sign
up to play and we’ll
get you a team.
Thank you in advance for
your support!
