Steven E. Firestone Senior Business Development Manager Mission Systems & Training (MST) Ship & Aviation systems (SAS) Steve is a senior business development Manager for Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems & training SAS in Baltimore, MD. For the past fifteen years, Steve has lead the business development team efforts for the Vertical Launch Asroc (VLA) missile, Torpedoes and Aerostat systems. His most recent assignments include Business Development efforts associated with the UK, Turkey,Canada (CSC Program)Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, and Netherlands. In 2010 Steve rode CG 53 Mobile Bay for approx. a week for ASW excersices and assisted the VLA test team to deliver a VLA excersice shot. Prior to Steve’s business development position at Lockheed Martin, he worked at Precision Cast Parts Company in Minerva, Ohio, as the Program Manager responsible for The Pratt & Whitney account. Precision Cast Parts is the primary manufacture of high strength Airfoil castings for Land and Aircraft Turbine engines. This position mainly focused on leading technical development activities within the main plant and acting as the main interface to Pratt & Whitney. Steve originally started his career at Goodyear Aerospace in 1984 and acquired a total of five years’ experience in manufacturing engineering and government contracts. Within this five-year period, Steve worked on the following programs: MK 48 Torpedo, Tactical Munition Dispenser Tail Assembly, Pershing II and ALE 47. A 1982 graduate of Akron University, Steve has a BS degree in Business Administration majoring in Marketing. Steve served as vice president of the Akron Junior Chamber of commerce (Jaycees) and has directed many community activities. He participates and is a current member of the Surface Navy Association as well as the Nationaal Defense Inducstry Association.
