Position Overview
The Infrastructure Investment Division plays a key role in the management and delivery of major road and rail infrastructure projects through the Infrastructure Investment Program (IIP). The Division works with Australian state, territory and local governments to build much-needed infrastructure across a number of programs that comprise the IIP.
The IIP is a significant investment of over $100 billion for the next ten years and is a crucial part of the Government’s Economic Action Strategy to boost economic growth and prosperity, increase productivity and support thousands of new jobs.
The Division also plays a lead role in the development of policy and advice to Government on infrastructure investment, working closely with agencies in the Australian, state and territory governments on issues such as infrastructure planning, funding and delivery, and financing.
The Investment Policy and Program Branch supports the delivery of the IIP by managing the administered budget, providing investment strategy and financial policy advice to the Departmental executive and ministers, and managing the National Land Transport Act 2014 and the National Partnership Agreement on Land Transport Infrastructure Projects.
The Program, Financial Management & IMS Section:
Manages the administered budget of the Infrastructure Investment Program.
Leads management of the divisions input into Budget, MYEFO and cash flow processes.
Manages the Infrastructure Management System (IMS).
Leads engagement with Central Agencies on program management issues.

Key Duties
The participant will work across the section on a range of activities relating to the current and new Infrastructure Management Systems, contributing to change management and stakeholder engagement. The percentage of time spent on each task will be determined by priority during the period, as well as by the participant’s own interests and skills.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
Reviewing data sets / documentation and webpages with a high level of accuracy/consistency and where applicable making suggestions for changes and improvements.
Assisting with the Division’s data management.
Assisting with the development of training and system documentation.
Carrying out other general administrative duties when required.
Ideal Degree/Discipline
Information Technlogy or any related degrees or disciplines. A person who is keen to be involved in the testing and development of a new infrastructure management system.

Second last or final year of a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree
Australian citizens only
Identify as having disability
Candidates may be required to undergo a background check security clearance
